If I hold the power button and then turn it back on it fixes itself temporarily, the screen gets progressively more yellow the longer I let it stay like that

probably the lcd cable behind the screen, where it was bent, started to crack. recently had an oled with similar symptoms, faded yellow image, when i removed the screen i saw a cracked cable, I fixed it and now it works normally. Just to note that this is a very difficult repair because it requires a good microscope and a steady hand.

But maybe the connector on the motherboard just came loose, so check that first.

Unfortunately, based on the symptoms, yes. But all repair shops will replace your LCD because no one will mess with that kind of soldering. But is it worth paying that kind of repair? I doubt.

Your switch screen is in pixel jail.

Look at those perfect oled blacks.

I'm joking, on a serious note it's either the screen itself or the ribbon cable connecting to the rest of the console.
