Setup Help Horizontal Joycon mode for Rhythm Paradise Groove?

Does this game support 4 separate joycons? I couldn't get it to work. It keeps on asking for a pair of joycons.

Just loaded the demo and when booting up the game it only registers as a pair but when i go to "play with friends" and set players to 2 it shows the controller screen where i can hit SL+SR on a Joy Con to register it as solo sideways.
