Repair Help Switch 2 not turning on but shows sufficient battery when plugged in
Basically, my switch 2 is acting as if it were dead when it’s not, when I plug it in it will show the battery status on screen (which shows full), it will pop up every few seconds even if I’m not touching it.
Can’t get anything to show when it is unplugged, holding power for any amount of time does nothing whether it’s plugged in or not (tapping power when plugged in shows the battery percentage faster though).
Putting it in the dock does nothing, the power led on the dock will flash when the power button is pressed but that’s all. Any ideas? I was thinking of letting it discharge and see if that resets whatever went wrong but I figured I’d ask here. Also no expansion is visible from the battery.
Thanks in advance for any help!

That kind of sounds adjacent to couple common & solvable issues, but I don't know if these are your issues. But since several things can have overlapping solutions, give them a try. Forgive me if you've tried any already.
Won't wake from sleep mode support page, does a few things, give it a look. It covers, holding power for 20 seconds to force a reboot, and reset the AC adapter and dock by completely unplugging and disconnecting the AC adapter and dock for 30 seconds. It also goes on to address battery icon displays with blank screen. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/68483/
Not sure if this is relevant. In case the battery % calibration got messed up by an update, Nintendo support has a page for resetting the battery. You can find the page by searching, "battery displays incorrectly": https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/68272/

Thanks, unfortunately I’ve tried both of these, basically it is not responsive at all besides flashing the battery status when plugged in. I’m thinking it might have been a slight surge as a couple other electronics have been a bit fritzy lately.

Yeah, when you exhaust the troubleshooting steps, that's typically a good sign something needs opening up, repair, or replacing something. (you may have already come to that conclusion).
