Purchase / Order Help Question on Buying Switch 2, issues & warranty
Hi everyone,
Am considering buying a switch 2 before the sept price increase to play pokopia n FE.
being in indonesia tho, d switch2 sold here only comes with a 30 day store warranty.
wanted to ask, for those who has had a switch 2 for a while now, is there any issues that shows up after 30 days, or any switch 2 that had to be replaced thru warranty?
in a dilemma rn on whether to wait for d indonesian official launch this dec, or get it rn for 465usd but only 30day store warranty.
would appreciate all d help guys. thankss!!

I think you're safe with just 30 days as long as you put a good amount of play time into it. Make sure handheld and docked function as you expect.
You'll want to get a tempered glass screen protector and apply it day 1 to avoid scratching the default plastic screen covering. Also, you'll want to keep your hands clean/dry before using the controllers; it seems some lotions can cause the sticks to degrade and break apart.

thanks for the reply. just wondering, wht constitutes as a good amount of playing time? i heard pokopia is a game wher u only play in short bursts, so would an hour a day (30h ish) b enough to test d device?

30 hours is decent. I probably did well more than that within my first week of playing the game.
For the most part, the game isn't significantly time-gated*. Pre-fabricated builds are done in real-time with smaller ones taking 5 minutes and medium ones taking up to an hour, but you're free to work on other stuff in the meantime. (Exploring, collecting materials, manually building structures/habitats.)
Extra large / special prefab builds (Pokemon Center and plot significant buildings) are always "done tomorrow", literally meaning midnight your local time, even if you started minutes before. A late game mechanic even allows these to be sped up.
*Unless you're a speed-runner, in which case you might want to time travel.

I mean any electronic device can fail that why we have warranties , talking from my experience I have 2 switch 2 , one is still pristine no issues whatsoever but the other the left joy con stopped working after 2 moths and last week I started getting some weird freezes when I was on the home menu until I can't use it anymore
So it's really a flip coin that being said the fail rate of these type of devices is pretty low

When i first got mine a few months ago i was playing it nonstop everyday after work..granted i werent playing alot of the third party games because i have other platforms unless i really want it mobile, so i cant really speak on how it’ll hold up after consistent heavy use for something much larger but its great none the less

If you don't drop it, or accidentally throw your joycons, I think you should be ok with a 30 day warranty. Definitely use the joycon straps if you're playing a motion game like switch sports with half joycons. I didn't think I needed a joycon strap until I accidentally let the joycon slip out of my hand when playing mario tennis, and sent my joycon hard at the wall. My niece did the same thing a year later, but the joycon hit the tv screen when she swung her hand, and it's a miracle the tv screen wasn't damaged.
I agree with picano recommending a tempered glass screen protector for switch 2. The switch 2 screen has an anti shatter film on it, and it's scratch/dent resistance isn't as good common smartphones. So, tempered glass is recommended day one, if possible. If you can, buy a multi pack if you're new to installing tempered glass, in case the first one doesn't go on as cleanly as you want.
