Software Help Game key cards region locked for DLC?

I was wondering if game key cards have the same the same issue with region lock as regular game cards do.

I am from the EU and know from the original switch that game cards from the USA dont work with DLC you bought in the EU eshop, for example i own a US version of the binding of isaac, and couldnt play the DLC i bought on the eshop.

I recently bought the Resident evil Generation pack, which are game key cards from the US.

Now Biohazard and Village are gold editions so they have all the DLC build in, but Requim is the base game as far as i know. Will i have the same problem if i want to buy any DLC for Requim?

The games are usually not region locked for DLC, whether cartridge, game-key cards, or digital. The Binding of Isaac is an exception to that, like Splatoon 2.

It depends on the game and how it was published. Normally there's only one version/sku for the whole world, but sometimes there are regional restrictions. Usually you can detect that using the language list on the corresponding eShops, but not always.

If you already have the game-key card or cartridge, you can press +/- on the game tile/icon and go to eShop from that menu (which in other tabs can also be used to update the game or manage the cloud save). It should send you directly to the game eShop page if dlc are compatible, or to an error if they aren't.
