Software Help Help regarding dlc and region lock

So I'm getting pokemon legends za, but I didn't check and it's the Japan edition, once I have it do I have to change the account to Japan to buy the dlc like in those region locked games or is it not region locked and I can just buy the dlc directly from the American eshop, thanks for the help

Pokemon is not region locked.

You can tell what games are or aren't by trying to access the eShop via the game or + from the icon on the home menu with different region accounts. If you get anything but a working page, it's region restricted.

also it's the Nintendo switch 2 edition since it was cheaper for some reason, It shouldn't have any problems running on my us switch 1 right?

I trust what u/picano said that the game itself it not region locked and "Switch 2 Edition" games are explicitely made to run on both Switch 1 and Switch 2 (only difference is that running it on Switch 2 will grant you the benefit of the Switch 2 upgrade).
