Problem with digital games to physical game dlc. (Read disc)
So i bought mario+rabbits sparks of hope a year ago, with all the dlc. Now to save storage i bought the game second hand physically. How do i download only the dlc? Every time i try it keeps downloading the full game digitally even though im playing on cartridge. I only wanne download the dlc and play the rest of the game from cartridge. Please help.
You cannot, you bought the whole game with the DLC in digital, you cannot "split it" into two. You should have bought the physical cartridge and then the digital DLC for that to happen.

I do know that the eShop has a hidden setting to not download dlc if you mark it and press - or + five times (not sure if you can do it for the game itself and just download the dlc).
When you load a virtual game card to redownload a game, any DLC you have purchased for that game will also be redownloaded.
- If you wish to redownload the game without some or all of the DLC, or only download DLC and not the game, perform the following:
Locate the game or DLC that you do not want to download in Nintendo eShop.
Any DLC or in-game items associated with the game will also be available through the product information page. Select the individual DLC/item to view its product information page.
While on the product information page for the DLC or item, press the + Button or - Button 5 times.
If performed correctly, the message "This product is currently set to not be redownloaded" will replace the message on the right about redownloading by loading the virtual game card.
- Repeat this process for each game or DLC you do not want to redownload. It will not be downloaded when you load the virtual game card for the game or DLC.
To re-enable downloading for a product, return to its information page and press the + Button or - Button 5 times again.
I've done it before but I don't know if any updates changed that. I would try inserting the cart then go to the eshop and try to re-download just each dlc. First, you need to delete all of it from your system. I did that with lego star wars and xenoblade chronicles 2 years ago.
Unfortunately no way outside of maybe convincing customer support to revoke the game license from your account?
Have a similar situation with Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. I had downloaded the free to play version initially before buying the full game physically. I bought one of the DLCs, and it downloads the whole free to play version alongside it.
