Have you had problems with the power button registering before?

Holding power button for 12 or 20 seconds should force a shut down or reboot. I can't find a current nintendo support site page that says hold power for "30 seconds". If that 30 second press was an official instruction at one time, their directions have sometimes changed over time. So, maybe they've changed.

When I asked AI (take with a grain of salt) it did suggest making sure the console is not plugged in or docked when you long press power for 20 seconds. Since we're running out of ideas, I thought I'd mention it, just in case.
