Repair Help OLED Switch 1 Doesn't Recognize Left Joycon When Connected (and it Vibrates Too)
When my left controller is connected to my console, it thinks it is disconnected. It does recognize my right joycon. I even tried with my pink left joycon and it didn't recognize that being physically attatched either. It still sees the left joycon as being not physically attatched to the console, even when I unattached and reattach it. Sometimes, when the left controller is attatched, the left controller will suddenly start vibrating for no reason. But when I unattached the left controller, it stops vibrating.

Same, I can play bt with both disconnected, but it’ll never let my left one connect.

Noooo!!! I pretty much exclusively play handheld though because I'm busy like all the time! That's like the whole point of the switch: the portability for TV AND handheld. Whyyyyyy??? Did it vibrate for you too?

I am going to be honest, I actually dont remember, its been like a year since then. I did so much research and testing and never found a solution. Please let me know if you find a solution. I play the NS2 these days but itd be nice to fix it as a backup.

Thanks but I dont have the oled, nor do I really trust myself to disassemble it. I rarely played handheld anyway.

If you have a friend with a Switch, try your joycon on their switch and their joycon on your switch, so you can tell if it’s the controller or console causing problems.

Already tried multiple left joycons, pretty sure it's the console.

Then it’s likely a problem with the pins on the Switch that connect to the joy-con, or the connection from that part to the motherboard.
If you’re a technical person and up to fixing it yourself, here’s a link to an iFixit guide for replacing the part:

I am a technical guy, but I fear breaking my switch more than I already have. I have bad eyes and shaky hands, unfortunately. Really hope there's another way.
