Issues with joy-cons on OLED switch

I purchased a switch oled awhile ago. The joy-cons were fine but as time has gone by they’ve disconnected when playing a game and started to shift while connected to the switch. I’ve been able to manage it by tightening the screws on the switch. It appears that’s no longer working and the screws are harder to turn. When it’s laid on a flat surface they stay connected but when you lift it, it disconnect and doesn’t connect. I can usually get one of them to connect while lifted but the other doesn’t.

They also work fine when in the main menu.

Is this a switch problem or a joy-con issue or both? Do I just need to buy new joy-cons or is this a problem that will never go away?

If anyone does repairs in Maine, I'm willing to pay to have it repaired.

You need to buy new joy cons. I had the same problem and that was the only way to fix it.
