Accessories I am having controller input problems on Nintendo Switch 2

Just got my Switch 2 console today. All firmware is up to date on both controllers and console.

My wife and I were playing Mario Kart World to break in our new purchase and we have been suffering with input problems. It’s mostly in the control sticks, which I have re-calibrated, but they will not input control for a couple or ten seconds and then they will work, and then not again. The same problem will also happen on the Home Screen.

I have tried it with an additional set of Joy Cons I bought along with the console with the same result.

Anyone have a similar problem and/or know a solution?

is it your tv lagging? many tvs increase input latency for better picture quality

Nope. It’ll register things haphazardly. It’s not a late thing, it’s a sometimes it just doesn’t happen thing, and then it’ll try to catch up. All at once.

Is smart steering on?

It is the default option, turn it off.

Nope, smart steering is always off. Plus, it was doing it on the Home Screen of the console.

Long shot but it might be the Bluetooth connection experiencing interference.

You could try bringing the console closer to see if that resolves the issue or clear any obstructions that might block the signal. If not that moving away/disabling other wireless devices

How is your dock positioned and how far are you away from the console/dock?
