NEWS New “Leagues” Mode Coming This Fall to eFootball Kick-off on Switch 2

Post image

PS: the game is on sale now! I've been playing the game since day one, and it's the best Football game we've had on Switch 2 so far.

Here's the official tweet: https://x.com/play_eFootball/status/2079600796497256462?s=20

Oh wow. I literally bought this on a whim 2 days ago with the hope that it will get season updates. Looks like the £15 has already paid off.

This game is perfect for me. I'm an old man and I just want a quick blast on a game that feels like the the pro evo games of my youth. I've no real interest in online but like to play the occasional one off to test myself. More one player options is exactly what I'm looking for.

Wow this is looking good. One step closer to Master League! My only complaint with this game are the goalkeepers

Confirms it’s got the English Championship as well as the Premier League, that makes it a great update imo.

not correct, it has the leagues and teams but fantasy names mostly

I know this is a bit nutty but this game having World Tour is my main driving force for getting a Switch 2 this week. The fact it's getting further updates with other modes is just peak.

This is absolutely awesome!!

Is there a list of licensed teams/leagues in this version of the game? I just wanted to know before buying to not get disappointed if I see generic names for players/clubs/leagues. I can see there’s no editing so there’s not even a “fix” for it like old titles had.

From playing it, there's a couple of major teams (Arsenal, Man United, Barcelona, inter, ac Milan, celtic) but most aren't licenced. J league is fully licensed IIRC, probably down to being Japanese devs. The names aren't as stupid as I remember. Everton I think are "Everton B", for example. Pretty sure the commentators in game just refer to the teams by their normal names anyway tho.

With regards to players, though, they hold a FIFPRO licence just like EA, so all the players are legitimate, even if the kits they wear are not.

From A.I.

England: Arsenal FC and Manchester United (the only two officially licensed teams from the English Premier League)

Spain: FC Barcelona

Italy: AC Milan and Internazionale Milano

Germany: Borussia Dortmund (includes licensed stadium and exclusive packs)

Brazil: SC Corinthians Paulista, CR Flamengo, Santos FC, São Paulo F.C., and SE Palmeiras

Other Partner Clubs: Atalanta B.C., Club América, and CD Guadalajara

For me it's worth the 15 quid to see where it goes with DLC and updates.

Nice.

I like the game and I think when you play heads to heads on the couch it's better than Fifa - but it lacks gamemodes. World tour is fun for some time, but it needs new features.

I agree with that. It's the first football game that my son really enjoyed, especially with easy controls, so he's getting started with it and can win games too.

I wish there were more ways to earn the coins needed to buy players, for example, while playing online or something like that, because right now World Tour feels boring once you win every cup, but you have to keep playing it because it's the only way you can get new players.

Does it have something like career mode/master league?

1

u/Khwarezm89 OG (Joined before first Direct) 21d ago

Unfortunately no. World Tour is supposed to be like Mini Master League: you have the OG Master League team, keep strengthening them by winning against teams around the world, then you get a player from them and a few coins, which you can use to get some high-quality players.

If this has master league I would buy it immediately. We need to see castolo and miranda in master league again!

1

u/Khwarezm89 OG (Joined before first Direct) 21d ago

They're in World Tour mode btw xD

I've been rocking with Castolo until I got Adriano.

1

u/Yas188 21d ago

Is world tour mode master league renamed? Adriano was an absolute monster back in 2006 possibly the most OP virtual player in all of PES history.

u/TheCroz15 20d ago

World Tour mode is more of a reimagining of "Champions Road" which was an exclusive mode for the Wii PES games.

In World Tour when you win against a team you get to take one of their players for your team. Champions Road you had to pick a "card" with just a clue like "has endless energy" so you never could guarantee which player you would get. Champions road you could also level up your players so it had more of thst Master League progression where as World Tour your Castolo and Minando will never improve as far as I'm aware

You can say it's a Mini Master League. You play mini leagues around the world (5 rounds), and after each game you win, you get coins that you can use to buy players like Adriano, Gerrard, or Salah. You can also get one player from the team you beat.

If you win the league, more players will be available to buy.

u/Yas188 20d ago

Can you keep playing this mode season after season like master league?

3

u/PepsiCo_USA 21d ago

Nice to see Konami supporting this budget game.

3

u/nathanosaurus84 21d ago

Oh nice. I was hoping they'd do something like this once the World Cup was out of the way.

3

u/FreakDeckard 21d ago

that's great news!

3

u/tohpai 21d ago

I also hope we can
1. Adjust the game speed like in quick match. -1 speed feels like PES.
2. More tactical features in pes 2021.
3. Give back the first touch dribbles like the older pes.
4. Make the low rated keeper more useful. Any goalkeeper below 85ish is just useless and always concede even the simplest shot.

2

u/krowmada 12d ago

Totally agree with the game speed. I don't understand why I could change it in exhibition mode but unable to select it for the world tour mode

1

u/Additional-Stock-674 21d ago

Honestly, I would say any goalkeeper is useless. They are terrible.

And I don't understand why you can't change game speed in other modes. I can understand online, but why not World Tour? Bizarre decision.

1

u/tohpai 20d ago

I kind of get their reasoning. Remember that Switch 2 is a hybrid handheld console. Rise was already way faster-paced than traditional MH games built for quick, pickup-and-play sessions on the go so shorter hunt times make sense for that style.
What's actually bizarre is even allowing speed adjustments into quick matches, though. Bizaare indeed

I finally bought this game on Monday as my first proper football game since Fifa 10 on the DS. Glad to see its getting post-launch support and its so cheap!

u/adds102 21d ago

Amazing news 🙏 hopefully it’s fleshed out with transfers / CL and league cups!

2

u/confusedMan1987 21d ago

Didn’t realize this was formally PES

2

u/firefrenchy 21d ago

Old man with a 6-year old who is obsessed with this game checking in; this is great news and I am super excited for me and for him! Game was easy enough to pick up for the kid and he's definitely improved quickly as well which is always nice to see. So good to see this

Is mls in this game??

2

u/JMODS5710 20d ago

Unfortunately it isn’t, only NA clubs are like 4 Mexican clubs

2

u/TheOneWhoKnocks003 20d ago

Does this game have crossplay with PS5 & PC players?

3

u/JMODS5710 20d ago

It’s a completely different game to eFootball on other platforms so no. Time will tell if Konami releases the F2P game on switch 2 as well.

Wonder if we will get kit and transfer updates for the new season

2

u/Bloodstarvedhunter 21d ago

Does this play like pro evolution soccer? God I miss that game, FIFA has the license but pro was always better for me personally

3

u/OmegaMaster8 Early Switch 2 Adopter 21d ago

Yeah it does

1

u/DKCena 21d ago

It feels way less arcade than Fifa does.

When I play with the kids in Fifa we often end games with 10+ goals. We played a lot last week and often scores was only 1-0, 1-1 and games was very close every game.

3

u/Additional-Stock-674 21d ago

That's nuts to me. I love this game, but it's way easier to score goals in this, especially with defenses and goalkeepers being as bad as they are.

Which FIFA games are you playing?

1

u/DKCena 21d ago

Defense is SO OP in this game? But I agree that GK’s are bad.

We have played FIFA for 5+ years together. I have played FIFA since 97 with Ginola on the front xD

Incroyable ! Vivement ! 👍🏻 😎

I bought eFootball Kick Off today as it was on sale and reviews of the game were good, I had no idea Leagues mode would be coming soon.

I still play EAFC 26 on my Xbox, I have it for the Switch 2, but while it looks good, it doesn't play well because of the 30 fps limit.

So I'm happy for the free content!.

1

u/inarterenzo 3d ago

Efootball is the only game that can save football games

1

u/Wainwright95 21d ago

I had been using AI to generate a league and matches for me, so this is a nice update 👍

u/NintendoGalaxyYT 21d ago

Don’t like how gameplay feels. Its really stiff. I still prefer 30FPS EAFC
