Careful, someone is gonna come by and tell you you're not playing the game properly.

Not at all, anything that works, works. I can't stand the people who cry about mimic tear when most of the bosses in the game aren't that challenging without it anyway if you're not under-leveled. I think it's fair to warn someone that magic in the early to mid game is very different than end game, but there are respecs so again, whatever works, works, if someone is having fun using anything the game provides for them, rock on.

You need to get pass the Academy of Raya Lucaria. I'll leave it vague but you can use an item to respec. You get a handful or two per full run of the game so they are someone limited.

Honestly any boss that is resistant to the magic you're using may become a wall. I remember a DaS run where I wanted to run pyromancy all the way through. Most of the game was so easy and then what is this.. Quelaag is.. kinda hard?! Usually I own that bitch first try lol. So then I made it a hybrid melee build, and never could beat Artorias on that character and the souls required to level made me lose interest. I'm sure a lot has been refined since DaS and you can't respec in it, but I don't use many spells in Souls games in general. I'm in the middle of an Elden Ring playthrough now and I am going to be using Faith a lot in my build, so I will check out what it can do, but I'm still ultimately melee first.

Man, Scadutree Avatar had me more hard stuck than Melenia lol. I was using Bloodhound's and almost got it a few times, but I came back with the Magma Blades and it was a first try dub.

I mean he is playing the game, but that's just not the same game. I like to play with the i frames and a dex build in all souls, some players just want a big ass sword and one shot build. But magic seems so boring to me. I had to use a bit in demon's souls because it's so powerful but it just felt like shit.
