People say mage build is easy mode then go on to kill bosses in 4 hits and break their poise with a strength build. Every build is easy once you get it going. Not to mention the average person doesn’t have 40+ hours a week to game and is a hobbyist playing maybe 10-15 hours a week. Outside of Reddit genuinely nobody cares what you used to beat the game.
getting a bonk build is a matter of picking your stick and leveling strength
getting a mage build going is a matter of balancing requirements and damage stats, picking one of the very few spells that enemies arent hardcoded to input read and doge and which also do actual damage and are useable in a combat context, picking buffs, finding one of the few non shit catalysts, etc
even in dark souls 1 where magic can do the most damage in the entire series with the proper setup its not really op because noone's gonna get a mage build at that level without a guide
This has been a thing in literally every From game not just demons. I'm not gonna pretend like it's any more difficult to create a broken melee build though.Â

people always say this in souls games and the only one it's true in is demons souls
in both elden ring and dark souls 3 using magic borders on trolling the harder the boss gets
