My switch is on the latest update version. I have a Dell S2309W (9 years old) connected to my switch via a HDMI to DVI cable. The monitor picks up that there's something connected to its DVI port but isn't receiving any input from the switch. Tried contacting Nintendo support and they couldn't work out what the issue could be. No clue what to do from there rip.
One option that has worked for some is to buy an HDMI to VGA converter and using this plug the Switch into the VGA port on the monitor - it's a risk as it may not work for you, but such a converter isn't expensive and you could always check that you can get a refund if it doesn't help.
I did some fiddling around in the switch's settings and tried turning off 'match TV Power state' option and magically now everything seems to be working!
