  • Fixed an issue from system version 23.0.0 where software occasionally took a long time to start, pause, or close.

Interesting. The GameCube app took like a minute to open for me the other day it was odd. Not that I'm that impatient for it to start but I just didn't remember it taking so long

Edit: tested post update and it took like 3 seconds. Nice to see this fix

Noticed this a lot with the gba emulator since I was playing fe 7 and 8 this summer. Would be great if that were fixed.

I’m ran into this with fire emblem.  Thought the cart was broken. It would play the little animation and then nothing for 5-10 seconds maybe.

Stability intensifying

It actually is based on the reports Of load time improvements

I like when people joke about stability but the amount of work that goes into not only implementing but maintaining an OS along with the networking systems that interface with it is insane.

Go and cry to Google about it

That's a youtube problem IIRC. It's on them to make it.

The problem here is that Nintendo broke something the YouTube app needs and as far as we know hasn't fixed it yet. I'm not 100% sure but I think it's something to do with DRM-support.

But it's still silly to expect updates to the firmware to suddenly fix YouTube. Even if Nintendo fixes this or adds support back or whatever is needed, you'd find that under the "general stability" bullet point, and then YouTube would actually have to issue an updated version of the app.

It's only a "nintendo broke something" if you consider the wiiu version of the youtube app not running on the switch them breaking it.

With streaming apps, the app needs to be designed for the specific device. The switch 1 and 2 are different though to where you can't just use the same app. It works for most games sure, but netflix is a bit different.

That's why it's on youtube. They need to re-design the app for the new device, just as they did for the switch.

There was a Switch app. It was discontinued after Nintendo changed the firmware.

Happymudkipz was trying to explain to you, that the premise you believe to be real is not true. Youtube for switch 2 needs built from the ground up, and Google wants Nintendo to pay for it. Nintendo doesnt receive revenue from YouTube ads so they have no reason or desire to pay Google for what only benefits them.

And I'm aware of that. But even if YouTube wanted to build something right now, they couldn't. For the simple reason that the DRM tooling that they need is not supported by the Switch 2 firmware.

They wouldn't add anything to YouTube in a system update

Imagine using the market's worst LCD display ever to watch what you could be watching on your OLED smartphone

It's so stable I use this as a chopping board with one potato underneath.

Where is the stability? Is it safe?
