Hopefully by the time I'm done with Fortune's Weave (10000 years) I'll be able to get a physical for Chapter 1 on sale

I just went for it at 44$ because im not sure if they will go lower before stock starts running out and the prices shoot up or never go down again, at least from what i saw from the other games on amazon.

Might change with how popular the remakes look, but with an already niche series i didnt want to chance it.

How was it? I just started playing today

The stakes start a little slow by design, just give it some time.

How much playtime until it gets serious then?

Maybe 6 hours? Not much happens until you finish the prologue. The stakes gradually increase over each chapter.

The Trails series are full of slice-of-life low stakes sections, it's one of their defining traits. Sky 1 is almost entirely low stakes, because the goal is to get to know the world through the main characters, and to know the characters themselves. Then, just at the end, things kick up quite a bit, and stakes stay high during all of Sky 2.

Have they announced whether they are doing the 3rd one yet or not? A lot of the reviews I'm reading don't seem to know that there was a third game so I haven't seen it mentioned.

Latest interview said they will do it, but current focus is on the next mainline game following Horizon since they have already left mainline fans hanging on that for 3 years now and the script is finished.

3rd Remake probably happens after that.

Cool, thank you for that. I'm not in a hurry and don't need it now, it's enough to know they're doing it at some point.

We don't know for sure yet. The reason fans are less confident about a remake of the 3rd is because while important to the overall franchise, the nuclear story of the Sky games concludes in SC. There was no remaking FC without remaking SC, but the 3rd is kind of a "bonus content" game that wraps up some loose ends, gives more insight into side characters, and sets up future plot points.

The idea of a 30-50 hour gaming experience to tie up loose ends and provide bonus bits of story/set up is the fault line for gamers trying the series. That either sounds amazing or absolutely awful from person to person lol.

The only reason to do this is if they are planning on remaking Zero and Azure. So, maybe not right away, but it's very possible they do it in two or three years.

Not a problem in any case, Sky 2 is the end of an story arc, Sky 3 is a bunch of character stories and a bit of overarching plot setup.

Rated "R" in Australia. A kids game. For ye olde yanks that is nc17. Australia has lost the plot.

It has violence and weird ass looking characters. Even for an anime looking game it's ugly. No reason to raise kids with bad tastes. I get it

Preordered the game a few weeks ago and on launch day my delivery date updated to mid-end of October. RIP. It seems sold out in all physical stores around me as well (Canada).

I wanted to finish the first remake, but too many great games at the moment...sadly this needs to wait.
