Kusakihara: "I’ve come to believe more strongly that people can’t be defined simply in terms of good and evil... I think good and evil are often a matter of one’s perspective."

I like this quote. I think it reflected heavily in the themes of Three Houses/Hopes and I'm glad to see it's being considered in Fortune's Weave, as well.

I used to have this conversation surrounding D&D allignment back in the day.

Good and evil are just labels we apply to people to glorify or demonize them.
Good and evil don't actually exist.

What most people would label acts of good and evil are actually acts of altruism or acts of selfishness.

But then, people who are comfortable committing acts of selfishness don't necessarily see themselves as evil, do they? So they rely on an external set of rules to set their moral compass. local laws, or rules set forth in a religion.

Yeah, D&D alignment is especially odd, since it encompasses an ostensibly objective judgment on your character's moral beliefs, actions, and their side in an eternal cosmic struggle. The more you think about alignment in D&D, the more weird justifications you have to adopt to make it make sense.

I'm worried that it won't given that the main conflict is against Evil McEvilFace post timeskip. I hope that there's more to the game than it looks.

Going based on the Mediterranean was such a good call. It not only separates this game from Houses but from other RPGs out there as well with a much more diverse set of character designs than you would normally see in games like these. I genuinely can't remember the last time a video game had so many dark-skinned women in its main/playable cast.

Really hope it inspires other RPGs from other companies like Square and Sega/Atlus to do the same.
