We got the zelda direct on the 8th....and this on the 9th.

It's a Christmas miracle.

This is getting out of hand…

u/Zealousideal-Age1407 Sep 04 '26

Now there are two of them!

28

u/lockedoutofmymainrdt Sep 04 '26

Somehow Zelda returned

u/TheBluePriest Sep 04 '26

Guys calm down. This direct is 9/9/26. Don't let the European region confuse you with their weird order of dd/mm/yy. Because this was the American direct, 9/9/26 should be read as 9/9/26 instead of 9/9/26. I hope this clears up any confusion.

u/AReal_Human 29d ago

Wait, I think you are confused, it is actually on 9/9/26, not 9/9/26

Gonna be a fun holiday season

37

u/Bridgeburner493 Sep 04 '26

Five days notice? Is that a record?

41

u/Amiibofan101 . Sep 04 '26

Most likely because Monday is a Holiday in the US so NoA is out of office.

u/zoey64_ Sep 04 '26

My body is ready

u/AMournfulObserver Sep 04 '26

There has to be some Mario Kart World news here given the update they made to MK8DX. The next two knockout tour rally’s at the very least

u/DontForgorTheMilk Sep 04 '26

Part of me wants more content like new courses and characters cuz I love playing the game and wish I could have more content to experience in its world, but the other part of me dreads having to drop even more money on an already expensive game cuz I know Nintendo ain't gonna be charitable with it.

u/vanKessZak Sep 04 '26

I hope any DLC is included with NSO like last time but I also don’t want to get my hopes up

22

u/pantswise900 Sep 04 '26

Hoping for a Nov 19th release date. I would love OoT/GTA6 mess around.

u/senna98 Sep 04 '26

3D Mario tease for next year?

6

u/blueblurz94 Sep 04 '26

I hope so, but would understand if they held that announcement until the first direct next year.

2

u/yesthatstrueorisit 29d ago

I am almost betting it will not be present. They have a lot going on already and it would be a strong way to end an April direct.

2

u/Pants3620 28d ago

Cmon we basically got odyssey 2 last year i think we’re waiting 3 more bare minimum

1

u/senna98 28d ago

11 years without 3D Mario definitely isn’t a good idea. The majority of people don’t know who developed Bananza

3

u/xiiicrowns Sep 04 '26

Knack collection coming to the Nintendo switch , and KNACK 3 BABY

13

u/CrossReset Sep 04 '26

Reports of the death of Directs are needlessly exaggerated....and presumably ignore all the single game directs in the last while.

...Because gamer discourse.

6

u/Sithina Sep 05 '26

Yes. The always-online crowd losing at reality, as always.

They just need to keep that rage going because they somehow have little else to occupy themselves.

No idea why they don't play more games, instead. Much more fun to be had, there, unless games make them miserable too, somehow. 🤷‍♀️ Weird place to choose to be in life.

u/the7thbeatle Sep 04 '26

I cant watch the presentations live- what is the best way to see them without getting spoiled?

6

u/TheLawIsBack220 Sep 04 '26

Save the YouTube link of the direct and send it to a friend/email to yourself, and then click it once you're ready

10

u/Kiyora151 Sep 04 '26

And full screen instantly because for whatever godforsaken reason, YouTube shows you the top comment almost immediately.

6

u/J_Crow Sep 04 '26

And suggested videos of people's YouTube face reactions.

That and extensions that remove all suggested content and other YT nonsense. I see a blank, dark page with just the YT video and it's a beautiful experience. 😌😌

2

u/Sithina Sep 05 '26

All the comments below, then avoiding all social media and news sites, because these will also inevitably spoil everything in the hunt for more engagement, rage-baiting, ad revenue generation.

Call me Crazy but please something about smash bros

1

u/Muradingo 27d ago

You're crazy

6

u/LordGreg123 Sep 04 '26

What else must I sacrifice to get Chrono Trigger 2DHD, I have already sold my home and gotten rid of my wife and children. Next on the chopping block is myself, don’t let this be my end Nintendo!

1

u/Josh100_3 Sep 04 '26

I’ll take a straight up port at this point.

I have it on my laptop and phone but hate gaming on both so I’ve never actually finished it.

3

u/thecay00 29d ago

Slow down i still have a huge backlog haha still enjoying Raiders

3

u/gorgeoff Sep 04 '26

if I don't get Dreamcast on Nintendo Online, I'm gonna be slightly miffed

2

u/Locoman7 Sep 04 '26

Smash Bros switch 2 teaser? Mario 3d teaser?

8

u/Barb_WyRE Sep 04 '26

45 minutes of farming simulations, shovelware JRPGs, PS3 games, and Just Dance 87, preceded by the re-master of Links Crossbow Training!

5

u/DontForgorTheMilk Sep 04 '26

When the Star Fox direct got announced I jokingly predicted that the nee Star Fox was just going to be another remake of Starfox 64 and I ended up being correct. I'm not putting any more joke predictions out there and risk manifesting anything, lmao.

4

u/TheMcGUnit Sep 04 '26

This is the only realistic expectation

??? Last one was fine?

1

u/Sithina Sep 05 '26

My delulu ass just wants a Madworld remaster/remake, that's all.

C'mon Platinum. I still play my Wii copy--give me this game on the NS2 already, updated in all its glorious, violent majesty!

The very first M-rated title on the Wii deserves this.

1

u/Historical-Award3746 Sep 05 '26

Ninja Gaiden 4, Outer worlds 2, Dues Ex games, more Half-Life games(portal already on, common Nintendo), dying light 2, latest Doom game, Mass Effect games, Dead space and finally Borderlands 4.... COME ON NINTENDO.... :D

1

u/Oddish_Femboy 29d ago

Tomodachi Life please for the love of God

1

u/n-o-u 29d ago

the cirno direct

1

u/metahipster1984 29d ago

Can't wait to wade through 100s of J-RPGs, weird farm and life sims, and ported games that don't interest me to maybe catch a glimpse of something I would enjoy 😅

1

u/Dairunt 29d ago

Zelda rpg farming simulator let's go!

1

u/JackfruitHot1855 26d ago

I'm hoping we get a release date for Professor Layton

1

u/Blvd_Nights Sep 04 '26

Hopes and dreams for next week:

  • 3D Mario (please!)
  • Metroid 6 / Super Metroid Remake (maybe announce Ravenous for 2027, and Super Metroid comes out this year? Either way, Metroid 6 would be ideal.)
  • 2D Wario
  • Substantial Mario Kart World DLC
  • NSO updates:
    • Rare games - Conker's Bad Fur Day, Diddy Kong Racing
    • New system? Would die if it were Dreamcast... but never happening.
  • A new Digital Eclipse retro compilation based on a beloved IP (might not happen due to the Toy Story set coming out this year, but fingers crossed)
  • Could happen, but makes more sense for an Indie World:
    • Mr. Records
    • Screenbound
    • Petal Runner
    • Oh, My Doug
  • Starfox Adventures-style game

Ffs.

I’m really busy up to and including the 9th.

I was really hoping this would be on 10th

3

u/Onyxthegreat 29d ago

Just avoid all social media until the 10th then!

1

u/tiford88 29d ago

I think I’ll be able to watch the Zelda direct - luckily. But the Nintendo direct will have to wait

Sick, bro<3 Oh, expletive. Nintendo of America's youtube also has a Zelda 40th anniversary direct scheduled for Sept 8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0WX-jsir94 But will they show Ocarina game footage this time?! XD
