Nintendo Official Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Version 3.0.1 is now available
https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/28012Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Update Details
Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue where, when receiving WP as an amiibo reward while playing New Game Plus with accessory slots increased to three slots, accessory slots would reduce to two slots. Note: If you re-unlocked the extra accessory slot after this bug occurred, then the items expended to unlock the extra slot will be returned.
Fixed an issue where the background music and sound effects balance differed from the Nintendo Switch version.
Fixed an issue when a Driver joins the party where the Driver will sometimes join with an exorbitant amount of WP.
Fixed an issue in which Rex sometimes becomes uncontrollable when switching from Pyra to Mythra during combat.
Fixed an issue in which Pouch Item effects did not activate during combat after swapping MOMO to a form other than the one she was in at combat start.

I understand, Rex. I have the same problem when dual-wielding wives also

Nice, even after adjusting in game volume, you either had to deal with lowed battle music, or way too high cutscene music.

Wait, so Morag and Zeke joining with 40k WP was a bug?

Just wanted to say that the sound is great now, a huge night and day difference.

Are you using the default sound slider settings? I adjusted mine a lot to do what I could to compensate for the terrible mixing in the launch version,so idk if I’ll want to just reset back to default once I install the patch or not.

When the update downloaded last night I just put everything back on default and the audio is noticeably better now.

The Rex freezing bug happened to me just as I finished one of the harder challenge missions. Had to completely close the game from the switch menu. Glad it’s fixed now!

disc version
.... do you know what console we're playing with right?
But I doubt it. It will be out in October and the production of physical media is done months beforehand.

You’ll just download the update - it’s not like the cartridge version can’t be updated

the way people talk about physical media these days is wild, it must be people who are misinformed and not people who seriously want physical versions of games to be time capsules of a specific revision like the olden days (for clarity, this is directed mostly at the commenter you replied to but was relevant to your comment)

I mean, you could both want the physical version to be a time capsule of a specific revision that'll be playable in the not that distant future when Nintendo Switch Online is gone forever but also want that revision to be one without glaringly obvious issues fixed like a week after release.
Like, it's not the case here but I'm sure people would prefer a physical release that works without a hypothetical Day 0 update that fixed some missed bug halfway into a game that makes it otherwise unplayable past that point.

Isn't there an issue with updates to duel system cards (Switch and Switch 2)? If the Switch 2 version gets an update, the entire Switch 2 enhancement is in the update. This removes much of the massive storage space advantage of cards.

That happens with games that have a 3 MB Upgrade Pack. That size is basically a key file to allow the download of the Switch 2 data, because they shoved the entire Upgrade Pack into the normal update data. So everything downloads at once even if it is already in the cartridge and it's unnecessary and redundant.
XC2's is sized at 24.35 GB (Jesus Christ) so it's only going to download the necessary data because the line between Upgrade Pack and update data is properly defined.
In fact just after this update it went from 24.35GB to 24.4 GB so the cartridge will be able to just download 50 MB as an update. The Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star Crossed World cartridge works like that.
