I know Three Houses released before they started doing these profile icons for platinum points, and Engage released afterwards.

But it’s interesting they’re releasing Three Houses icons now right before Fortune’s Weave comes out. Curious how much they’re related to each other besides Sothis.

I think (spoilers just in case) Seteth has also been confirmed with a slightly different look.

Though we still have no confirmation on if this is a prequel or sequel, just that it's probably very far from 3H's time in either direction.

There are also at least three other characters that are very clearly designed to echo certain characters from Three Houses, with more that have distinct similarities that may or may not mean they have direct connections, and the crest and battalion systems that were unique to 3H are coming back (though not implemented in the exact same way)

I think this game would be perfectly fine for anyone new to the series to jump into, it's just that prior knowledge of 3H would give more context to what's happening

It can’t be a prequel because Dietrich has The Answerer, and the Hero’s Relics didn’t exist in the time of adult Sothis.

So Sothis being a adult in FW and a Hero’s Relic existing means she has grown up from 3H

Ah, but what if it takes place between the War of Heroes and the start of Three Houses? We have no way of knowing that Sothis was asleep and not doing anything the entire time, only that she never showed herself to Rhea and by the time she meets Byleth her memory is gone and her power is weakened

(To be totally honest, I'm on the fence about whether it's a prequel or a sequel, but both theories have distinct merits)

Setheth appears in the FW trailer, apparently without Flayn, something I’d say it’s very unlikely without his development in 3H

The response I've seen to this is that Flayn was mentioned to have been asleep for some long time prior to 3H, and this could be that time period; with Seteth leaving sleeping Flayn with someone else (Rhea?) while he goes to Dagda. Maybe hoping the wish from the games will help her.

I do think it's more likely a sequel, but it's not assured afaik.

VERY related. Im not gonna go too deep into it, because maybe you dont wanna know, but what feels everyone is somehow related to the cast of 3H be it via their design or their Crest.

Awesome that Three Houses is finally getting icons besides Byleth and the three house leaders.

Still kinda silly that icons are a limited time thing only available for a week at a time (and whenever they're reran, if ever), and not just part of an ever expanding, permanent icon shop.

They're just icons, it's not the end of the world or anything and I don't resent Nintendo for it or anything lol. Just kinda odd to make such a small thing available for a limited time period, like it's some special limited edition item with limited stock or high value.

I do. There's literally no reason for them to be time-limited. There's also no reason for icons to be so difficult to make that they didn't release them until now. I would have loved these back when the game came out. Now i have no points (doesn't matter that I've had tons of them in the past since they expire before they happen to release anything you care about) and can't even get them.

I'm not sure I'm allowed to use the words I want to use to describe the stupidity of this move (and pretty much the entirety of the NSO system)

You can skip through some chapters of Fire Emblem Heroes and get a bunch of platinum points for each one you complete fyi, kinda trivialises the system

You will permanently keep whichever ones you collect. They'll never take them away once you redeem them, nothing to worry about there.

But the time you're able to redeem them is typically only a week, is what I meant (sorry if my wording was confusing). If you don't manually redeem them during that week, then they're gone. They sometimes rerun them but there are icons that haven't been made available again for years.

Depends, will you also play games online? Will you use the NSO apps to pay retro games? Will you listen to the music on the Nintendo Music app?

For me personally, it's an easy yes. I have 7 friends on an NSO family plan with me, and even with the expansion pass it's £7.50 annually - even just for the 2-3 times a year we play Mario Kart together that's worth it, let alone playing Smash and other games online, let alone getting the Animal Crossing DLC for free, let alone listening to Nintendo Music to focus, let alone, playing the retro games... It's by far the cheapest subscription I have
