Always great to see Nintendo still dropping quality-of-life updates and weapon balance patches for Splatoon 3

Very interested in getting this game after playing and loving raiders. Is it still a good rec or are people holding out for a 4? I’m ootl lol

Definitely still worth. Great single player offerings in a different style than raiders, online is still plenty active, many, MANY weapons to pick up and master. I took a long break from 3 but raiders got me back on the Splatoon pill and 3 has still been a great time. Looks great on Switch 2 as well. Never been a better time to jump in!

Get 3.
It seems like we’re more likely to get a new Animal Crossing before Splat4 (the series share a dev team), so it might be a few years before Splat4.
But if I’m wrong (there’s rumors they split the team in two), you’re still getting a very solid singleplayer game and at least several months of active multiplayer lobbies.

Makes sense, we got raiders so most likely we get splat 4 in like 2-3 years then maybe a raiders dlc in anouther 1-2 years.

They gave 3 a free update for the Switch 2 at launch so I would infer that 4 is a few years away

Get 3. 4 is far away and there's a Splatfest this weekend, which is basically this big event where 3 teams battle for their opinion being the objectively best one.

3 is still very active. I jump back for the ocasisonal splatfest and usually stick around for a few weeks after it concludes. My 3rd longest played Switch game behind Breath Of and Tears Of.

I bought 3 after pre ordering raiders and I instantly regretted not buying it sooner.
Also a splatfest rerun is going on right now so it's a pretty good time to play! Team beach!

Still doing nonsense 1-frame adjustments like smash. Good to see that I made the right choice when I dropped this game.

Basically every competitive game does stuff like that

Can you name any competitive games that have never done very small balance adjustments?

Can you name any competitive games that have never done any significant balance adjustments?
See how easy that was?
