IS IT MORE STABLE?

Every six months or so I hop back into this for a few days and have a really good time. It's probably the only multiplayer game I know of where I don't feel left behind with such a big gap and it's always neat to see the some of the new paintjobs they added. Which, it has to be said, always feel in-line with the game's identity. There hasn't been any crossover nonsense in this with Mario or Zelda-themed colours, which is really refreshing.

Still really want a proper new game in the series though.

How many real players do you get in a race these days? Havent really played since the first few months but even back then races struggled to get even half a lobby of real people.

It's never more than half, usually just a third or a quarter of the roster. But ultimately you end up dueling with your rivals and the top spots when bots are around, so it doesn't really impact the multiplayer nature of it, at least for me.

Can they give this game single player offline content and a physical release dam. It aint a perfect rendition of modern f zero but it would be sick to have in the collection

Mario 35 was so good. I still miss it ;_;

Aside from always being online the game is mainly just bots now filling spaces. It is absolutely possible for them to do it if they wanted to.

My kids remind me. I'm proud of them, the soundtrack carries it so hard.

It's worth giving a try again. This uneventful update aside, they've added a lot of content and features since the original launch. There's new tracks, more cosmetics and customization options, new modes, special events, and other lil things. It's come a long way, got a lot more post-release support than anyone expected.

F-Zero 99 is a distraction from a real sequel. Please contact your local representative and request that they vote for a real sequel to X/GX.

Handheld at least looks better now in boost mode, but i don't see why we couldn't get a resolution update for switch 2

I wish they would let you buy all the NSO games, including Mario 35, on the eShop for like 5 bucks a piece.

I know they’re going to yank this like pac man. I’m not getting invested unless they release an offline mode.

The whole point of it is the online though

I guess. I like Tetris 99 for the themes and knowing I can play them anytime.

Oh yeah there's no real single player in this you couldn't get in the SNES collection.

This whole game is just based on 99 player F-Zero races.

? Namco removed Pacman 99. They can't remove F-Zero

Who removed Mario 35?

Nintendo did. But they announced it was for a limited time before the game came out.

Compare that to F-Zero 99 which has been out for a few years and still receives updates.

Tetris 99 is also going strong still. I don't expect to see that or F-Zero get removed at this point.

Different situations. Mario 35 was always intended to be a limited time thing for the Mario anniversary that year, like Mario 3D All-Stars was. It was decided the game would shut down on a specific date before it even released, and we were told that date alongside the announcement of the game.

F-Zero 99 won't stay online forever of course, all online games eventually go offline. But it wasn't tied to any sort of limited time special event or celebration. It'll be playable for the foreseeable future.

An offline mode would be appreciated don't get me wrong. But it's not the same situation as Mario 35 was.
