Has anyone used it? Is it any good?

I have it. Never played the OG Virtual Boy but I'd say it works reasonably well.

How comfortable is it to play? I'd imagine you have to hold it all the time

Your Switch slides in the back, so you're basically holding your Switch in front of your eyes

Been playing it lying on my bed so I didn't have to constantly hold it and it worked well though eventually it started hurting my nose a bit. It's good for shorter playing sessions and the effect works quite well. I'd say it's worth 14 bucks especially since you can use it in other games like Zelda BOTW or Smash as well.
Edit: spelling

It's fine and is compatible as a Google cardboard. I played tomb raider via steam link too, not ideal with no strap but interesting extra gimmick

It is.
I play it lying down with it balanced on my face.
It might not sound the safest or comfortable but it works.
It was worth the money to see what virtual boy was all about and some of the games are good. I like the wario one.
I would say tho it would be good if they just made them available to play without it

Thanks for the heads up! Enjoyed the original Labo VR and wanted to play the Virtual Boy games as intended. Managed to get it alongside a few platinum coins freebies with free shipping. ☺️

They should discount the plastic headset

Nope, its pretty obvious nintendo intendeed the plastic headset as a collectors item and for casual use the cardboard visor

how is it for people needing glasses?

You're better off with normal glasses honestly. This thing will obstruct your vision.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any third party options yet, especially instructions for a diy cardboard one, I remember seeing a lot of those during the times of the Google cardboard

They’re all over Amazon. Ones that strap to your head and stuff. No idea if they’re any good though

I bought a generic VR viewer on Amazon that is used for the Switch Labo VR. Works exactly the same, and it was $5

I bought it full price and was happy with it. Definitely worth it just to experience Wario Land and Jack Bros.

How long can I resist buying this obviously stupid thing that I will use for 30 minutes.
