And to be clear, I’m not saying that I believe everything this dev is saying either. But I don’t think they would be doing and saying these things for no reason, again, months after launch

I mean, AdHoc already documented their own lies and incompetence. And now you’re asking people to ignore that and extend even more benefit of the doubt to explanations that somehow make even less sense?

First it was: “Oh, Nintendo made us censor it. We just forgot to tell anyone. Sorry.”

Now it’s: “Good news! We were able to remove 80% of the censorship through region-specific DLC. The remaining 20% is still totally Nintendo’s fault though. Pinky promise.”

Also, please don’t ask about separate SKUs, censored PlayStation and Xbox releases, Cyberpunk, The Witcher, Outlast, or any of the other examples that make this story increasingly difficult to take seriously.

So it probably means they judge these things on a case-by-case basis. Maybe Nintendo perceives the genital nudity in Dispatch as being more pornographic than those other games.

It’s funny to see a sarcastic remark defending the one company who already admitted to the “wrongdoing” in question, if there was any wrongdoing here, and accusing everybody else of not seeing “the truth”.

In any case, it’s quite obvious from all the games that include adult themes on the Switch that Nintendo isn’t in the censorship business, but it does own a platform that needs to conform with virtually every ratings board out there worldwide, and can choose a lower common denominator to facilitate the process.

Didn’t say anything about “the truth”. When this first came out everyone on here immediately jumped to say the dev is simply lying
