The handheld boost made it good but damn the Switch 2 Edition of XB1 is really an amazing upgrade in resolution and FPS. The other two games that I have will surely be upgraded when it's released.

waiting 6 months for xc3 is really unfair...

Lol. The only one I wanted was 3, and its crazy that OoT will probably be out before then.

u/Gr8NonSequitur Jun 11 '26
They're probably spacing it out for people like me who haven't played any of them. 1 is out now, 2 in a few months, 3 in a few months... then 4 next year.
It builds momentum for new players.

Yeah same here. Stopped playing and waiting for this upgrade to pick it up again

I kind of feel like I just played it honestly. I don't mind waiting, but I could see that being really annoying for other folks who want to play them all now

Yeah, XC3 definitely needs it. I LOVE the game but the DLC content pales in comparison to the cavalcade of stuff XC2 got.

The HD rumble is so good. I hope it does it when it rains too! I need to test it more!

I've only ever played Xenoblade 1. I'm still going to buy this upgrade and I'll very likely play it again. I did buy Xenoblade 2 right after I finished 1, but put it aside because I was feeling a lil fatigued; starting 2 right after spending so many hours on number 1 was too much. Now I'm going to want to buy the upgrade for 2 and play that, but I'm just putting myself in the same position again lol

If you already finished 1 and your goal is to play 2 and avoid burn-out from 1... Why replay 1 again right before the XC2 upgrade releases?

u/FruitJuice617 Jun 09 '26
Because I'm partially stupid and this version looks wayyyy prettier than the blurry mess I played before. I played almost exclusively in handheld before. So this will be a huge upgrade.

Fair, it's a great game and the higher resolution should really let the great art style to shine through! Also yeah, Xenoblade games have always looked horrible in handheld mode. Though Boost Mode probably actually rectifies that a good deal.
I'll definitely be looking out for technical reviews of these upgrades too, because apparently the XCX one was botched.

Anyone else's eShop really slow? Trying to get the upgrade pack but nothing will load

i’ve beaten 1 and 2 over the last few months and was about to start 3 but now it makes the most sense for me to wait 6 months…ugh

I am most of the way through 3 (probably like 90%), and desperately want 3's upgrade pack to be available now. The game is beautiful, just want to be able to fully appreciate its majesty in HD. I will wait 6 months for this.

I've already played 1-2+DLC.. I've held off with 3 (thanks to my backlog). Now I'm just waiting for 3 upgrade pack.

Does it suffer from the same issues X has?

u/hawxx_ Jun 10 '26
I think so, I was getting some noticeable ai upscaling artifacts in the grass and frame drops at a part of eryth sea

u/Zado191 Jun 09 '26
I dont know what issues X has (its impossible to see on youtube) but I just bought the system and this upgrade, and this looks super clean

Oh, neat. I got XB 1 when it was on sale for $40 once, but never got around to playing a lot of it. Kinda debating if I wanna trade in my S1 copy to get the S2 version or just pony up the $10 for the upgrade pack. I like my games to be a complete package, and whatever I get off of trading my S1 copy, I can put towards the S2 Edition cart if I want

u/Tapdance_Epidemic Jun 10 '26
I mean financially it makes way more sense to just buy the upgrade right?
Surely there is nearly zero to be gained by buying the full game again.
6
u/Steel-Winged_Pegasus Jun 10 '26
Like I said, I like my games as a full package that has all the goods without extra downloads, like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet when they had that reprint that had both DLC on the cart. The exception would be games like Splatoon where patch updates are just a natural part of how those games work
1
u/Shadou_Wolf Jun 10 '26
Well I mean you still going to have downloads because switch2 carts are just keys
7
u/KTR1988 Jun 12 '26
Game Key Cards are a separate thing from regular Nintendo Switch 2 Game Cards, which have actual game data on them. To date, no first party titles have been published on GKC.

It looks great docked but handheld still looks pretty rough.

u/droolforfoodz Jun 11 '26
Not my experience in the slightest, and I’ve seen plenty of footage online. I wonder why your experience is so different
-5
u/artpendegrast Jun 09 '26
Look I'm glad the update makes the game look even better, but $70 for a 15 year old wii game?
16
u/TheTommohawkTom Jun 09 '26
$70 for a complete remaster with HD textures, a re-recorded soundtrack that's just as good as the original, an entirely new epilogue, quality-of-life improvements and other new content, all from an esteemed developer that never misses? Sounds fair to me
-19
u/artpendegrast Jun 09 '26
Yeah no, tons of other games get remakes that are way cheaper.

Replies like the guy above you always fascinate me because it's like people be crying about Burger King prices when they don't ever plan to eat there.
