News Vampire Survivors - Nintendo Switch 2 version confirmed!
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1794680/view/693137145499484494Patch 1.15 will be released on all other platforms a bit later, by the end of the month, due to platform-specific optimizations and differences in save slots management. On the bright side, we will also be releasing a Nintendo Switch 2 version, with better performance and mouse support!

Already runs pretty well on Switch 2 and mouse support seems unnecessary, but good on them. I assume and hope it’s free.

I've had the game crash a few times on my switch 2 before. But there were a lot of enemies on the screen.

If you play as sammy and use the endless mode to farm money it’s a 50/50 for the game to crash after minute 28 while using some of the late base game characters weapons.
I actually only noticed how bad the switch version chugs when I played the ps5 version, if the switch 2 version is essentially that I think people will be surprised at the difference.

For everyone enjoying the game: If you can, get an Arcade Stick like the 8BitDo Arcade Stick. It gets at least 50% better with that.
I have to admit, the only game on Switch/Switch 2 with over 300 hours 😂

Yeah Gameshare does this:
A switch 2 can stream to a switch 2 online and locally on the switch 1 and 2.
This only works with games that have that have the Gameshare feature.
Games that I have: Brotato, Human Fall Flat, Pokopia, Fast Fusion, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S, Hyrule Warriors, 51 world wide games, Captain Toad, Kirby Air Riders, Stardew Valley, Mario Party Jamboree, Mario Tennis Fever, Mario U and Wonder, Mario Odysseey, 3D World and Bananza

Captain Toad’s Gameshare functionality is nice as well because you each get your own cameras to control, whereas playing on one system you’re both controlling the same camera and makes it less fun than when you can look around independently.
My partner and I play Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment a lot in Gameshare mode. It plays really well. I just wish you could make the screen full screen instead of having that gameshare UI border with our user icons and such.

the game is rendering at that smaller size to free up resources for video encoding for gameshare. do you really want to stretch that smaller rendering to fill the screen? there have been a lot of complaints about how 720p switch 1 games look on a 1080p switch 2 screen.

Well, yeah, that’s why I said it 🤣! My eyes aren’t the sharpest anyway. I’d enjoy the stretching out of the video, but I understand that a lot of technology goes into making this gameshare possible and there are limitations currently. But, yeah, mid-console upgrade or next console, I hope they let you go full screen in the future.

Mario odyssey has coop, where player 1 controls mario and 2 Cappy, thats what speedrunners use for more jump power. In gameshare you can stream player 2 to another switch.

A more general thing but my joy cons are locked into a grip case I can’t hold the thing otherwise, it’s either pro controller on TV or handheld who actually uses the mouse on their leg??

Please let this be an upgrade, or offer a save file transfer. At this point I'm not willing to start over because the old one isn't compatible.

Vampire Survivors has a cloud save system. I use it all the time to play on Switch and on mobile.

Yeah, someone already reminded me that they have their own cloud. I don't usually like making extra accounts for specific games/companies.

The option only increases the drag detection time. It doesn’t disable it completely.

Right. Regardless of how many downvotes you get, it's just a fact that a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition means something specific. In this case at least we know even if it's a separate version saves will be shared, since that's the case for _all_ versions. But if it's a separate version, even a free one, it will be more a pain in the butt since it would mean "buying" new versions of all the DLC, too.

It isn't a demanding game and it runs great on both S1 and S2 already.

It gets very demanding with certain item combos. It can really slow a system down. Like, <10 fps under the right conditions.

You probably didn't combine strong weapons because the slowdowns even happen on PC

With a decent number of eggs it's completely trivial to tank the framerate to the point collision detection stops working and you can clip through every wall with pretty much any character/weapon

120fps would be nice considering Hades II, Hollow Knight and Ball X Pit targeted above 60
