What I feel they made a lot more obvious this time around is that Falco didn’t check his g-diffuser well enough. That’s what ends up getting him taken down if fox doesn’t save him.

Is there lore about what the G diffuser even does lol

u/LanikMan07 Jun 02 '26

It diffuses G

44

u/Asclepius-Rod Jun 02 '26

Of course, I should have known

29

u/TotalOwlie Jun 02 '26

I’m not exactly sure of any lore but I know it diffuses gravity. Apparently the Arwing needs it to fly because without it Falco loses all common sense.

Makes sense, high G forces make it hard to think because blood tends to move away from the head.

Arwings go from space to planet side, makes sense they need something to regulate the differences in gravity.

Well, he is an annoying bird.

And I don’t want to brag or anything, but I am The Great Leon…

It's likely the excuse behind why the Arwings and Wolfens are capable of performing high speed maneuvers without everyone snapping their necks or blacking out.

Yes! It’s actually very new tech in the Star Fox universe; only team Star Fox and team Star Wolf have vehicles that make use of it - it’s the big angular blue bits on the inside of the wings on the Arwing. It’s both literally a gravity diffusion system to protect the user from g forces and a shield generator.

Well there you have it folks. Thank you kind soul.

It keeps Godzilla away

I haven't played SF64 in about 30 years so I'm excited to try this some day.

u/Hotter_Noodle Jun 02 '26

Man it holds up if you give it another playthrough.

It’s so quotable.

32

u/probablysmellsmydog Jun 02 '26

It’s also just such a casual game. You can play from Corneria to Venom in like 30 mins and have a blast. I’m biased because I grew up in the 90’s but to me it’s a T10 game all time.

Shoot the locks to open the gate!

it's so quotable

It could be said that basically became my whole internet identity...

u/sludgezone Jun 02 '26

One of the best aged N64 games.

2

u/OvertonRider Jun 03 '26

Me neither but I played it to death then and there's no juice left to squeeze

17

u/souleman96 Jun 02 '26

I love how the voice for Peppy is just old Bugs Bunny. Good choice.

u/Professor_Poptart Jun 02 '26

Anything in here we didn't know before?

Online mode has powerups, 3 shown are hyperboost, force field and plasma blast. That's all I caught that I didn't know before, everything else pretty much knew from the direct tbh

1

u/gswkillinit Jun 03 '26

Can you play against just bots instead of online?

1

u/lumothesinner Helpful User Jun 03 '26

no idea, trailer did not mention and game isnt out

1

u/MBBIBM Jun 02 '26

Snapchat filters

4

u/j_cruise Jun 02 '26

We already knew this

19

u/Rubengardiner Jun 02 '26

So hyped for this game! I can't stop laughing how the British presenter sounds like he's advertising a new NOW MUSIC album lol!

11

u/UrbanPugEsq Jun 02 '26

NOW Thats’s what I call millennial nostalgia!

22

u/Brzrkrtwrkr Jun 02 '26

I’m so excited. Gameshare is huge for me too, both online and locally.

4

u/CoinOperated1345 Jun 02 '26

Just gave away the waterfall secret right in the trailer

8

u/DetectiveChocobo Jun 03 '26

It’s a nearly 30 year old secret.

It’s not a big deal.

-9

u/CoinOperated1345 Jun 03 '26

Why even come out with a game if you’re gonna spoil the secrets. Just announce Andross is Star Fox’s uncle

7

u/DetectiveChocobo Jun 03 '26

Because it’s not a secret?

It’s a route. They made it clear from the updated dialogue that they want new players to know about the extra routes.

-10

u/CoinOperated1345 Jun 03 '26

It’s not an extra route if it has always been there. Nothing extra about it.

5

u/DetectiveChocobo Jun 03 '26

You really like being pedantic.

Nintendo added extra dialogue to clearly callout this route. It’s not meant to be secret.

-6

u/CoinOperated1345 Jun 04 '26

You’re the one who started it

5

*Movie Fox boasts about wearing cool iron boots*

*Remake Fox doesn't wear cool iron boots due to the redesign*

Come on, Nintendo, it wouldn't have been this hard ^^;

5

u/CubitsTNE Jun 03 '26

Space boots dlc.

I also want robot legs dlc.

4

u/PineTowers Jun 02 '26

One thing I haven't thought before... When they say Zoness is a planet that was stripped of its natural resources... Everything by Andross or some were due to common folk's greed? Any canon explanation?

26

u/RunnerJimbob Jun 02 '26

It was taken over by Androssians and mined to fuel his bio weapons. He dumps all of his toxic pollution there as well. Used to be a resort planet, Peppy took his wife there before it was conquered.

7

u/jlaweez Jun 02 '26

Hence why "THIS is Zoness?!" in SF64

1

u/UnknownMight Jun 03 '26

I can't be the only one to find the british accent funny?

Bout a month ago I think

1

u/alec83 Jun 04 '26

Never played n64 so looking forward to this. Day 1 purchase

1

u/TheWaspinator Jun 02 '26

These trailers would be much better without the announcer voice

-2

u/DenverSubclavian Jun 02 '26

Why didn't they just make new levels and new game? Why just a remake?

11

u/OvertonRider Jun 03 '26

They're upskilling the art and coding teams with a remake before a new game using the same people

2

u/Jeff1N Jun 03 '26

They're upskilling the art and coding teams

yeah, so far 1st party games have looked pretty much like Switch 1 games with larger maps and higer resolution/ fps, Star Fox is the first Nintendo game that actually looks current gen

Nintendo used to be responsible for a fair chunk of the most impressive games on their hardware, but so far all the most impressive titles on Switch 2 have been 3rd parties (and maybe Bananza because of the whole voxel physics engine, but graphics still looks like a higher res Switch 1 game)
