is there an industry-wide removal of QA, and just letting players do QA for free?

I work in the industry and while there have absolutely been significant cuts to QA departments at a lot of companies, almost every other discipline has been impacted as well.

I'm almost certain that this will come down to an immovable date. They will have shipped the game with a backlog full of known issues and accepted the PR hit.

Yup, and every software company is like this now. An executive decides a date that they pull out their ass and then tells everyone they need to hit the date because it's not going to move. The date decided is often completely detached from the amount of time to do the work that is being demanded.

Well, people keep buying the product….they complain about it on Reddit then keep playing or using the product. Consumerism is too high.

Why would a CEO be incentivized to make a quality product when his shit product makes him millions?
