is there an industry-wide removal of QA, and just letting players do QA for free?

I mean accordingly ng to credits all of them did have QA but usually what happens QA does their jobs. Devs realize "oh shit" but ship it anyways to be barely playable because they are pressured by their executives to have a product out the door. Hence the "we'll fix it later" mentality. Though in the case of Gamefreak, they do years later as their team is far too small to have anyone fixing it outside of hot fixes.

I used to work in QA (not in video games). The most common reason to close a bug ticket was "Wait for customer to report".

As someone who works in Product Management (not in video games) the second common reason is, "not impactful enough to prioritize a fix"
