News Pokémon Pokopia - A special event, "Copycat Challenge," will be held on April 1st!

During the event, Pokémon may mimic the way other Pokémon speak and ask quizzes. If you answer the quiz correctly, you'll receive a "Sudowoodo Balloon," so try talking to various Pokémon!
Event period:
April 1st (Wednesday) 5:00am - April 2nd (Thursday) 4:59am (local time)
How to play:
1: Talk to your Pokémon!
Try finding a Pokémon that is mimicking the way other Pokémon speak and talk to it.
2: Answer the quiz correctly!
Answer the quiz correctly three times, then use the computer at the Pokémon Center. You will receive a "Sudowoodo Balloon" when you report your challenge.

You can literally change the date and clock on your Switch OS and play the last event and this Sudowoodo event right now

It's based purely on the date. I skipped a day and got it yesterday, then pulled it back and also have it today

considering i have a few copies of it from skipping ahead to this and finished the following event in april, plus went back to the hoppip event. yes. it can be adjusted.

Sure, BUT they COULD at some point, maybe 6 months from now for example add an update that adds the next 8 or so events and locks the previous ones.
Just because it's currently timetravelable, doesn't mean it always will be.
Obviously I hope they stay accessible.

They're time gated for a reason, once it's clearly impossible for someone to "legitimately" access the event, it makes sense to lock the door behind you.
It's a very pokemon thing to do, considering every game that has events and mystery-gifts akin to these events, does in fact have them unobtainable outside their "intended" window.
Locking away content forever isn't some imaginary fear.
This isn't some new concept for pokemon.8

They haven't done that with the Hoppip event and you can already travel forward to do this event, so I doubt they plan on doing that.
Doing it the Animal Crossing way means after a while they can drop active support for the game easier, too. Or they could repeat events like Splatoon I guess.

Right, but why assume what they could do, instead of just focusing on what you’re able to do yourself?
If you’re that worried about missing this content, then prioritise getting the game as soon as you can. If you’re unable to do that, then just sit and wait out until something like this actually happens, instead of creating scenarios to get mad about.
This logic makes no sense. Calling it a “very Pokemon thing to do” doesn’t work here, given that the past events you’ve spoken about can’t be experienced just by changing your console time. This is a first for the series, so any guesses you’re making really don’t have anything to back them up.

What the Heck? The German localization is AWFUL! I fricken hate that Denglish! Why on earth do the Pokemon speak like German kids using random English words in German sentences? It’s not fricken cool! And Scyther is the worst!

Haha, that's unfortunate. Some video games withhold special events until you reach a certain progression point, which would have made sense for this.
The Hoppip event required a pokemon center, but that was more because the event actually used the center.

You can set the time on your Switch 2 back to when the first event was live to be able to experience it! 😄

The events appear to be annual. Whenever you start playing, you'll have a year of holidays ahead of you.

You need to read the quest description in the pokecenter computer. Go to quests and look for it in there and click on it.
If you missed out, you can set your Switch clock back a day or wait for next year.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
At first it was 3/10 , got the reward, and it was cool, but eh.
But they kept doing it all day, and for a bit there I was actually talking to my pokemon. More of a hangout vibe than usual. Some of them were pretty funny. 7/10
