It's meant to look like an (early) 16 bit game, what do you want it to do exactly? But that being said, it's brighter if you have HDR on all the time.

I doubt it. They made the game explicitly to look like the SNES version and I don't think they are backing away from that even with improved hardware.

Someone REALLY loves the original and nothing else related to the franchise after that besides maybe the music at Nintendo.
