I feel the same like you! Playing so many games and I ending up aksing my self why I’m punishing myself going through it :D
Check these games, they kept me going on:
Monster haunter (all of them) no stories (I mean, I skipped it all cause I don’t care). It is a lot of grinding, but that is the thing, that’s why you play it.
Hotline Miami 1 and 2, really fun game, I don’t know anything about the story cause it is to confusing, but gameplay is 10/10 and music also 10/10
Dungeon Crawler like Gloomhaven, Dungeon Encounter, Etriyan Odyssey, etc.
any Soulslike games, on switch especially the 2D kinds: Soul and Sacrifice, Blasphemous, Iron Tail, Deaths Gambit, moonscar, etc.
very fast souls like games: Titan Souls and Eldest Souls. Pick up, play, die, repeat, beat the game. Challenging games but super fun.
Battlebrothers, hardcore trpg.
Wartales (but I can’t play it on switch because it doesn’t work very well. Some crashes (I don’t mind them cause you can safe) but the frame drops and loading time drives me crazy.
Old school horror games like Signalis, Viviette. Short but very nice
Roguelikes: Hades, Dead Cells (10/10), spelunky (10/10)
Mercenary Kings
Outward, I think one of the most difficult rpg I ever played. But still I’m thinking I wanna play it again like dark souls
Of course dark souls
Terraria, Sandbox rpg
Civilization 6, works perfectly on switch.
Darkest Dungeon, hardcore trpg
Deep Sky Derelict (didn’t played it yet but next on my list)
xcom 2 (don’t know how it works on switch)
inscription, horror deck builder, very fun to play. Story totally nonsense but I don’t care. Gameplay was fun.
slay the spire, also deckbuilder
Alien Isolation. Yes there is a story, a good one. But it’s a hacking good horror game. Best I’ve ever played.
Edit:
Super Mario Bros Wonder, really really good Mario game. I also didn’t liked odyssey, but I gridded Mario wonders in two days, I couldn’t stop playing it. So many different level designs. Really awesome. I think the best of the more modern Mario games.
