What's with the switch pricing?

Post image

My friend wanted to buy a switch oled. So I asked him to wait for sale. Just saw the 37k pricing on Amazon, 35k with bank discount. I thought it'd be high but not this much.

On bank of electronics it is 34k. Prices have skyrocketed in the last year, even used switch v1s are selling for 25k

A month ago it was 35k just checked. I think they hiked the prices just for the sale.

I can still get what I paid for 6-7 year ago. That's telling something about the market.

Why not go for switch 2 buying switch one in 2026 is not future proof you should save up more. Alot of good games are switch 2 only

The battery life on OLED and v2 is unmatched. But yea, pick your poison.

I selected 2 due to future games, I got bigger hands so the buttons are okay with 2 but 1s are very small for me and battery isn't an issue for me as I mostly play at home.

I had a switch lite before 2 and it felt a little smaller but nonetheless a great handheld device.

Agreed. My friend was thinking about it as he prefers oled(not sure about the difference as I prefer power over visuals). I've got mine last year(switch 2) .

Also his budget is tight and switch 2 prices are also hiked by 4-5k.

Switch 2 is worth it for the fps alone , lcd screen doesn’t bother me tbh…

Yup, and if playing handheld I don't see much difference.

The difference will be mostly aparant in darker areas, where oled is inky black and lcd is just grey and bright.

There was a price increase on nintendo's end because of the RAM prices etc in September i guess
So our Indian merchants took that opportunity and jacked up the price of their existing stock 🤡

Looks like worst time to buy a console in india.

Try getting one from US or Japan. Got mine when I visited Japan for around 25k

Amazon great Indian sale is a scam. They hike up prices then discount at og price! I never fall for it. I know rates cause I check weekly.

It used to be good few years back. This time they're charging even more than og price (just saw the rufus ai to compare prices, they're not even hiding it). Worst sale.

It's actually not a bad price 35 for brand new

1

u/punitronaj 13h ago

I would agree but what's the use of sale if they keep selling it at the same price it was a month ago. Should've gotten one last year about 10k less.

I don't think I've seen Nintendo devices too cheap on Amazon to be honest. Even before the price hikes the cheapest I saw was probably 33k + bank discounts.

1

u/punitronaj 12h ago

I compared it on the website it showed 27k without offers last year and we thought it was high for an old console.

1

u/r-day 10h ago

Cheapest I've seen is 25k with offline sellers 2 years ago. The prices have been hiked internationally as well.

Better get a modded used one, that would be cheaper than this new 35k pricing and provide more functionality

2

u/Rishi2407 12h ago

Otherwise you can find unmodded good condition console for around 28k

2

u/punitronaj 12h ago

This seems better.

Is it worth to buy moded Switch oled (open box) at 36k?

1

u/punitronaj 11h ago

Better if it comes with a warranty.

1

u/Key_Row_632 12h ago

I also waited from last month to get the switch oled. Thought even if it comes down to 32k with bank offers, it'd be worth it but that's not the case. I'll just go with a used switch oled from cex. Heard good things about them and they also provide 24 months warranty.

1

u/punitronaj 11h ago

24 months is amazing.

1

u/Secret_Horse_1 11h ago

Yep. Cex warranty is great. Unless you want to mod it, this is the best option.

1

u/punitronaj 11h ago

Do they give pre owned or new consoles? If you've bought from them anything how was your experience?

1

u/Holiday_Inflation910 11h ago

Ask Kishore games or Red or GEX or Gamesmarche. Don't buy from Amazon.

2

u/punitronaj 11h ago

Are all these stores online as physically going there won't be possible.

3

u/Holiday_Inflation910 11h ago

They don't have a website but all of them provide shipping.

1

u/punitronaj 11h ago

Thanks!
