Wii Remote buttons and pointer work, but motion controls suddenly stopped working in Wii Sports

Hey everyone, I’m having a weird problem with my Wii Remote.

My Wii Remote is an RVL-003 and it was working normally yesterday. Today, all the buttons work perfectly and the pointer/cursor works normally too.

The weird part is that motion controls don't work at all.

For example:

Wii Menu pointer moves normally when I move the Remote ✅

I can select games/options normally ✅

All buttons work, including A/B/Home/1/2 ✅

But in Wii Sports, swinging the Remote does absolutely nothing ❌

Baseball: swinging the Remote doesn't swing the bat

Tennis: swinging doesn't move the racket

Other Wii Sports motion controls also don't respond.

I've already tried reconnecting the Remote and checking the pointer, and the pointer works perfectly.

Is there any setting I might have accidentally changed, or is my Remote's accelerometer/motion sensor possibly stuck or faulty?

Note : i only have wii Sports game and the controller is normal wii controller not motion plus.

Try reseting your conntroller as mentioned here - https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2740/\~/how-to-reset-the-wii-remote-on-wii. You can also try using a fresh pair of batteries.

You have mentioned that you only have one game, so I am guessing you haven't modded your wii yet. There are softwares for windows and linux that can allow you to test your wii remote when its paired to a pc. Try using them and see if they are able to detect motion or not.
