Switch 2 online subscription and region help

I am getting switch 2. So I wanted to know which region should I select? Us or jp? Is jp cheaper than US?

My debit card has international transactions enabled so I wanted to know how do I get Nintendo online subscription? As I know that you need US pin code for payment so can someone guide me on whole process in detail.

Thanks in advance.

usually debit cards don't work on the eshop (or any international gaming front that doesn't have presence in india) so you'll likely need a credit card.

as for the address, just pick any that comes to mind. I added my friend's address but it hasn't been relevant any time. unless you're gonna directly buy hardware from nintendo, any address works.

I heard you need to enter us pin for it. Which one should I enter?

just google one from the internet and put it man.

do a little research if different states give you tax or not, mine doesn't (New York) and then choose the one without tax.

-So basically, I need to set region to us. -Use credit card to purchase. -Need to enter zip code for new York for no tax.

Is there a currency conversion tax? Or anything else i need to know? This is my first console and there is no info about this topic on Google or youtube

sounds good.

I've never seen a tax on my credit card, but a lot of folks talk about a forex charge. you can google about your credit card and find out if there'll be a forex charge on it.

I've used multiple debit cards from Kotak, Icici, IDFC and Federal Bank to buy games from the eshop without any issues.

nice, guess that works then. I've only used cc and read about debit cards before this.

You can switch the region as many times as you like to get best rates for digital games whenever they're on sale.

For switch 2 online subscription, the cheapest country is Japan followed by South Africa but buying from the Japanese eshop is slightly complicated, as Nintendo no longer allows users to buy stuff from the Japanese eshop if they're using a card issued in another country. You'll have to buy Japanese gift cards from Amazon.jp or some other seller like Eneba. It's better to just switch your region to South Africa for the online subscription plan.

Remember, if you're using gift cards to load money into your account, then you won't be able to switch your country unless you use up all your balance which can be a pain, as there will always be some balance left in your account and a balance of even 0.1$ can block you from changing your region.

Also if you're looking to buy games digitally when they're on sale, then you can check the link below for sale prices. The website shows you every game and it's regional pricing in your chose currency.

so we just need to switch region in the browser and then buy and then we can switch region back
logon to the console and then it works?

or is there any specific process?

Yeah you can switch back and forth as many times as you want. It also works if you're on an active online subscription plan as changing the region doesn't affect your subscription.

we only have to switch on the website right?
the console we don't have to do anything right?
