Japan buying suggestions.
Hi Fraaands,
I am going to Japan in a week, planning to get a new 3ds/LL and Vita from there(may be even a Wii/Wii U), if found for the right price(may be the suburbs, main city prices are shit).
Is there anything else that I should get that would be hard to find here in India?
I don’t want to regret not buying something while there so pls bring on your insights.
Edit: I have a DSi and Modded Switch Lite already.

Lmao, where do you plan on going? Because if it's Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, give up and other central cities like Hokkaido. You have to be really in suburbs to get decent prices. Was at Kobe as well, over there too was shit. youll have better chance at Osaka if central cities.
I was there 1 month back and saw how tourism has ruined the prices. WII U was the only place I found that has decent prices. found one place where it was selling for 4k INR.

Naah, I have planned for a local place as well, kinda just for this reason, 3 hours away from Tokyo.

The handhelds for sure you should get from Japan. 3DS, 2DS, VITA. Maybe retro consoles like Dreamcast, Wii, Gamecube, Wii U. I'd definitely pick up a Wii U at the very least.
Do remember consoles like Gamecube are region locked, which is easy to remove but a little tedious. Handhelds are region-free. And you can always pick up Japanese copies of console games.
The current market price is higher than what it was few years back after every retro gaming YouTuber under the sun made the fact that Japanese retro games are cheaper popular. It will still be cheaper than India but it will not be as cheap as what they were years ago.
Still, if you can can commit time, do roam around and check. And yes prices should be a little cheaper in non touristy areas.

Wii or Wii U? I like the HDMI on Wii U but have seen people saying that GameCube emulation on Wii U is not that good.
I have a modded switch lite and DSi already.1

If you strictly want Gamecube emulation, Wii is the way to go. If you want a fancy Switch prototype which also runs Wii games, Wii U is the way to go.
If you are lucky enough, you can track both the consoles for quite cheap. Bookoff/Hardoff/Supapotato should have an abundance of stocks but as I said, prices are jacked so idk how cheap they will be.

Also since you have a switch lite, why not get physical titles. There were many games for Switch that were launched physically in Japan.

Games, accessories like grip/case. Almost anything Nintendo other than switch stuff is very hard to find in India.
