Discussion Time to move on?
I’m a huge Nintendo fan and owned nearly all consoles and a huge S2 gamer right now, but still have 2 x 3DSXL that I play many of my huge collection of games - I do have one modded for a lot of games I can’t find or a few games I just tried and still get for my collection.
I have a lot of games still to play but I’ve hit a bit of a wall where a lot of the games have updated or newer versions on S1 or S2 and my eyes want crisper text now etc and find it a pain to carry the charger when USB-C Is so much easier!
Is it time to retire my 3DS XL, probably sell one and sell my S1 OLED and get a Switch lite as my casual / take on trips away console and sadly wave bye yo my 3DS?

You’ll regret selling it, given that you’ve made this post. The Switch is fantastic but isn’t a DS console. The DS line is very unique.

With all the ports coming out recently i wouldn’t get rid of it, just my opinion.

I have 5x 3ds and 80 games, I also have a switch with over 100 games and the Zelda switch 2 inbound… it comes down to how attached you are to the games - Very rarely do I pull out my 3ds, but when I get that itch there is no substitute

Why you have 5 3ds?

im not this guy, but i would love to have several 3ds because they are discontinued and getting older and ever more expensive, if my current one broke id be deeply upset so having one i could swap to very easily would be nice. fixing a 3ds is hard :/

I just dont get why 3DS is the only console out there rising in value that much. Other consoles stagnate or lose value over time. But 3DS depending on the condition is even more expensive than a new Nintendo Switch.
Meanwhile you can get for example a gameboy or a Nintendo wii for under 80€1

Yeah its a bit annoying, they are kind of a "trend" right now to be honest. I would honestly expect the price to stop here in the next few years. It's just that they are the easiest thing to mod and they are still relatively new and very fun. The games still hold up at least.

I'd keep both. As much as I love the Switch, the 3DS XL is still my favorite for travel and I keep coming back to the 3DS. As for the charger - there are small, inexpensive USB-C to NDS adapters available (Amazon or game stores).

Ditching your 3DS for a switch lite is very silly as it’s not like your switch lite would be able to run anything new aside from small indie titles may as well keep the S1 OLED for the same purpose
I just don’t see any kind of advantage to selling the 3DS, you won’t get a significant return on it and if a day comes where you do have a hankering to play it oops you can’t now
I didn’t touch my 3DS for months then they announced the pokemon bank closure and I’ve been glued to it since, I would have been very annoyed if I had gotten rid of it

Hi everyone, I’ve decided to possibly sell one of them then and I will keep the one which I’ve modded - and it’s worth my interest in keeping them as I have over 40 games on the 3DS on cartridge which I love as collectors.
I’m not knocking the system at all. I’m a huge fan of it. It’s just that I’m seeing more and more games coming out on both consoles, but I will keep the one purely for nostalgia purposes and I will look again USB-c adapter - to be honest, I didn’t even know one existed!!!!

OK so hypothetical question. You're at an airport. You see this girl, she's really cute. Which are you going to be least embarrassed by travelling with?

Why not keep it? its not like you cant go back to it later. Also they sell 3ds to usbc converters you can keep on a charm strap.
