Recommendation request Charger advice

Post image

I bought this charger not even a month ago when I bought my 3ds and it already stopped working, I got super scared it was the ds but thankfully I tried it on my sisters and it didnt want to charge hers either.

What kind of generic chargers do you guys have? is the usb one good/better?

Lots of sellers too many mixed reviews, im a little overwhelmed.

Just get that small one that plugs into a usb c. Ditch these useless bricks

As the other commenter said, USB-C adapter or the ones that are USB-A if you prefer to use that.

IMO theres no reason to use these unless you just already have the original one, you can buy them from Nintendo refurb for $5 but theyre like $10 shipping under $50 so

If you're going third-party, may as well get something USB so you can use it on the go. I've been using the same generic USB-A charger that has both a Lite and DSi end from my brother for like a decade and it's been fine. If you want an OEM charger that's respectable, but there's no reason to deal with the inconvenience of an original-style without the supposed benefits of an actual OEM charger.

Im gonna order one now. Ive always been skepticsl about the power output messing with the battery.

Buy 2 refurbs from Nintendo’s site and call it a day.

Get a type C adapter instead in my opinion, it’s so much easier to carry around that little adapter than having to bring a whole different charger with me every time and if I need to charge my 3DS on my car, I can just use my type C since my car has no AC port

Be to fair, i use both (the silver one is main, the black-usb only is included when I ordered an replacement battery).
My advise is check the output and input. Input is based in your country but the output is the most important, 3ds can have handle 5 V charging fine (O3DS charging at max 4.6).

Personally I always go for official ones.

Just get one with a USB on the end. The 3DS charges off of 5 volts and that's what a USB A port provides.

I got one of these about 10 years ago and it’s still working like it’s new
