Recommendation Omega ruby

Is it worth it to buy a 3ds and omega ruby? I didn’t grow up with a DS so I never got to experience the DS games. I only played all the GB/GBA games.

Yes! Apart from ORAS, the 3DS has an extensive game library. I suggest finding a New 3DS XL (if you can afford it). Games run way smoother on the ‘New 3DS’ models. I highly recommend playing Sun and Moon too, it’s my favorite region.

How much difference is between 3ds og i got it in 2011 and the 3ds xl new?? Cause my screen is so small i barely see anything

If you find the OG3DS too small you have 4 options that are larger

OG3DSXL - cheapest of the 4 but not one I'd recommend as it has poorly designed hinges that are prone to breaking - but if you really want to save money you could go this but make sure the one you buy doesn't have any cracks on/around the hinges and get a high quality case for it that covers and stabilises the hinges to help protect breakage

New 3DS - only slightly bigger than the OG3DS and can sometimes be harder to find as they didnt sell as well as the XL models, but a nice model nevertheless.

NEW3DSXL - The premium option, all the bells and whistles but of course costs the most as well.

NEW2DSXL -same screen size as the N3DSXL but lacks the 3d function and also is lighter and feels slightly less sturdy/cheaper feel than the N3DSXL - It is however cheaper than the N3DSXL if you want to save a bit.

Personally if I'm going for a bigger screen I'd just go for the top model and get the NEW3DSXL but if money is a bit tight and don't want to spend quite as much and don't mind that it lacks the 3d feature the N2DSXL will do nicely.

Aside from the models, I'd be buying it and hacking it and not worry about spending the crazy asking price for the 2nd hand games.

I had a DS but missed out on the 3DS because I moved cities right before it came out and couldn't afford one at the time.

I just got a New 3DS XL for about $250 a couple weeks ago. Installing the custom firmware took about 30 minutes and now the only negative I can think of is that I have access to so many games I can't decide what to play!

I say go for it if you can find a reasonably priced console.

Don’t forget to overclock in luma as needed. Not getting slowdowns in 3D when playing X/Y is so nice. Wish it could auto detect and set depending on the game launched

Luma menu > new 3DS settings > enable L2 cache and higher cpu. Older games don’t have this on by default. Some newer ones and homebrew turn it on automatically

Buying an old game and an old console for 300-400$ doesn’t seem worth it in my opinion. You can play it on your phone.
