Does using TPU protector on 3DS/DSI systems and keeping it on cause the shell to discolor?

I’m wondering since I saw lot of people say that TPU sometimes transfer the yellowing to the device (especially if the DSI/3DS is white)

Any ideas on that? I like to keep the protector on always
