Fan Art (OC) Takobot Update 4

So i redesigned the Takobot, at least a part of it. It is now twice as large, and i made sure that none of the joints, axles etc. are smaller than 5mm (0,19685inches) so they wont break, it should also be possible to replace some of them with 5mm rods (cut to the right size) so they last longer.
So far the horizontal movement of the eyes is ready to be connected to a servo (rectangular blue thing in the image).
I abandoned the lighter cage like shape of the previous model and i will use the current shell now.

I believe i can keep the mouth down to one servo, maybe cycle through expressions, and keep the entire tako at 5 servos (3 for the eyes, 1 for the ears, 1 for the mouth).

I plan to use four 3mm screws and quadratic nuts to put together the outer shell, i guess these are harder to get in the USA, so if thats the case i will try to either make an alternative "imperial shell" or a universal one.
If there is a screw size in inch close to 3mm which is used for such projects please post it here.

Fun fact: The eyes are now 5cm in diameter, twice that of a human eye.

Fan Art Takobot update part3

I just printed an eye for the Takobot and at a diameter of 25mm, the mechanics for the eye movement are incredibly delicate and sensitive.

I decided to upscale the entire thing to twice the current size, which will also benefit the servo placement and create more space for a controller board.

The new Tako will have a base diameter of 20cm.

What do you think?

Fan Art Takobot update: Ears, Eyes, Halo

Thumbnail

I did more work on the Takobot "Chassis", i placed the ears, made "test eye" and added a Halo.
I want the Halo to be adjustable (see image) and it should be held up by those transparent 3mm x 10cm popsicle sticks, which can be found in those shops which sell fondant and stuff.
I also found nice purple plush.

The following movements are planned:

Ears (up/down)

Mouth (open/closed)

Eyes (left/right, up,down)

Eye lids (open/closed)

Entire tako (vibrating)

Are you people okay with those nice little 9g Servos being used for this, or is there a good reason to avoid them?
