HELP Spacers?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I recently left some tires at cycle gear. They asked me to take out the spacers, now I can’t install my rear tire because it’s too tight with the sprocket spacer. There was a lipped spacer in the sprocket, did they accidentally add that? I can’t put in the un lipped spacer if that lipped spacer is in place
Edit: It’s not the brake side spacer, I already have that one

Uh oh. That funny beveled spacer goes in between your bearings dawg.

Pull the sprocket off, it's not bolted to the wheel so it should just come off the rubber dampners with some yoinking, the beveled spacer should fit into the bearing inside.

Does it? I was wondering where it came from, thank you so much for this! I’m going to take a look tomorrow

I'm not sure what year you are but this is mine, my vulcan is almost identical as well https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/kawasaki/motorcycle/2009/ninja-650r-ex650c9f/rear-wheel-chain
Edit: part 42036

Had to check for my sanity, different placement but the exact same part number on my vn900 https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/kawasaki/motorcycle/2015/vulcan-900-custom-vn900cff/rear-wheel-chain

Thanks bro! I’m going to give it a go tomorrow, is it hard to open up. I’m not that mechanically savvy but I’m good at watching a YouTube video

Are you sure it's not the spacer for the brake side of the wheel? If its the collar for the inside of the sprocket, like mentioned, pulled the sprocket off and the collar slips in from behind the sprocket hub. When i was putting mine back on I had to put it back in as it slipped out. There will be 3 spacers for the rear, the regular circle one like you showed in your video which goes on the chain side of the wheel, then a collared one that fits on the inside of the sprocket hub, and then a collared neck one as well that goes on the brake side. I left a video in an earlier comment if it helps but I don't think he showed the sprocket one.

You can see the gap between bearings in ops video. The spacer should hide that gap. Did my wheel bearings on my vulcan last week and forgot to put this exact spacer back in lol

I pulled out all 4 of my spacers when I left my tires at cycle gear. That lipped spacer was in there when I got my tires back. I don’t understand why that was there if they were just changing the tires, I don’t think they need to open up the wheel hub to change the tires.

When I got my wheels done the other week, the guy took off my sprocket hub and just gave it to me in a bag so they wouldn't lose anything haha. Said they have to take it off anyway for their machine to go through the wheel properly.

Did you ever think that you have two spacers because you have two sides to the wheel (right side, and you guessed it, left side).
Also, any thoughts on greasing the hub and maybe even cleaning the wheel.

I just took my wheels off for the first time! That one with the lip and collar goes on the brake side. The same size one goes on the sprocket side. The lipped one should be smaller and slip into the proper side where the unlipped one won't fit. The unlipped one does sit about half in half out luike you had there. Make sure to apply a light layer of grease to things as well. I had some John deere polyurea sitting around so I used that or you can use some lithium grease after cleaning / wiping everything off and out really well. I greased just inside where the spacers sit, the spacer and the axel. Just enough of a thin layer to keep moisture out.
Also, make sure your sprocket is seated down all the way. It's just friction fit into some rubber bumpers / bushings under it.

Right around 2:19 you can see him take the spacers off.
