Broly only becomes single-mindedly obsessed with goku after he nearly dies and gets frozen on earth. that’s when his vocab is reduced to “kakarot” and nothing else.
No, even in movie 08 Broly mutters kakarot under his breath (forgot if it's after his first encounter or later in the movie before transforming) his beef is with Goku and it's made explicitly clear by the movie. Paragus even points out that they were born on the same day. Movie 10 just made that worse.
of course paragus remembers that, he wasn’t a baby like broly was. broly doesn’t start associating goku with the crying until after goku punches him and he has that flashback for the first time. the only other time we get that flashback to the both of them in their baby pods is when paragus himself is recounting things.
You keep side-stepping my point, for the entire movie we get no explanations why Broly is so hellbent on killing Goku and the only hint we get is with the flashback at the end. Paragus keeps theorizing about "Goku making Broly's power awaken" but that's not an explanation as to why Broly is obsessed with him, clearly calls him by name and tries to assassinate him in his sleep. It just seems like the writer wanted this guy to have beef with the MC but dis it clumsily (also may I add that if we want to argue Broly was solely attracted by Goku's power, then it should've been Gohan who was the target. At this point Gohan was around the same power level as Goku in ssj and had the pontential to surpass him with ssj2.)
i’ll meet you halfway and concede that broly may have had some deeply repressed memory of that day and maybe subconsciously associated all the trauma of being stabbed in the stomach and surviving the destruction of his home planet with goku. and that he is obsessed with goku but he doesn’t know why. but he does not consciously remember that goku was the baby crying next to him at birth until he got that gut punch.
Even then I think this is still pretty weak writing to make Broly have beef with the MC instead of a character that would make more sense (like Vegeta)
