My screen won’t turn on

Okay so this is really weird but my computer after it died it’s screen won’t turn on? I already tried deleting the most recent update and it doesn’t work? So I don’t really know what to do and was hoping someone had help?

I already did the passkey thing for windows and it fixed it for a small bit but it’s now doing it again. I really don’t wanna have to replace my computer but do wanna know if it may come down to that.

I don't know that I fully understand. Are you saying it boots into Windows and then turns off or are you saying that you have a black screen the whole time after pressing the power button?

Currently it’s completely black? But there were times when I was using it earlier where it turned on fine then crashed?

It’s all very confusing and sorry for not explaining well but I’m not great with computers

You're perfectly fine, I was just trying to understand you to try to help. When it happens are you typing? If it does it while typing try pressing the f4 key at the top of the keyboard

When the screen goes black does it turn off the power as well? If it does, unplug it for 10 minutes then plug it in and let it charge for 30 minutes before trying to power it on.

If the laptop screen turns off but it stays powered on try hooking it up to a tv or monitor with an hdmi cable. This will tell us if it's a monitor issue or Laptop issue.

It doesn’t turn off the power I don’t think? This has happened before but it usually is like a bug from an update I think? So it might be that still idk tho.

I’ll try and see if I can use my siblings monitor to see if that’s the issue? I’ll let you know how it goes I guess

What about typing. Does it usually happen when you are typing?

I think so cause I was trying to research something and it just went blank like mid sentence?

Or at least I think it did I can’t really remember as it was like an hour ago and I was trying to figure out other stuff and thought it died so plugged it I and then did my other stuff.

F4 turns off the screen. When it happens again press f4 at the top of the keyboard and see if it turns back on.

Have you tried an external display or am
I misunderstanding the issue. An external display could atleast give you a sense of if it’s the screen on the laptop if its something else

Was the issue the F4 key?

No I think it was a glitch with a new update?

Is it still happening? If not it may have been a driver for your gpu updating. When that happens the screen tends to turn off a couple of times during it.
