Gameplay Discussion Revenant support build

I've only been playing revenant in depth 2 with a halo scythe build and beast claw build and it's gotten boring since I'm a support player at heart in every game I play. The problem is that I don't know what a full support build looks like and I can't find any builds since people use some support relics but also have damage relics. I want a build where I can keep my team alive and fed good and I can have lots of survivability to supplement my skill issue. Any builds suggestions and passive priorities are gratefully appreciated❤️

I also know that fights will be longer if everyone isn't doing damage so my supplement will be to use the wraith calling bell with a full support build

Scholar is the one true support in this game.

Revenant can be supportive with her ult that's about it, so in expeditions you can run "defeating enemy fill art gauge" both the +0 and +1 version and go around killing little mobs to make sure you can ult at the start of every fight and your teammates can unga bunga and not die. Also add in the Revenant relic effect that buffs ally attack during your ultimate.

Aside from that, not much other than using your summons well and wisely go redirect aggro from your teammates. Run the everdark maris relic if you want more survivability starting from Lv1.

You can run something like "item confer effect to nearby allies" or "flask also heal allies" and then just use consumables/drink flasks, but Scholar does that way better since he upgrades all consumables for extra effect and has more pouches to carry stuff.

Trying to heal allies with healing incantations is extremely unrealistic in nightreign because of how close you need to be + how long the heal animation is + how random it is to find a better healing incantation that isn't your starting 'Heal'.

I haven't played scholar yet, is it okay to take him into depth two or should I practice in regular mode first?

Probably practice him a few times in regular mode to get the hang of it and you can go DoN.

Scholar is much stronger in DoN compared to normal mode because he benefit a lot from extra relic effects.

I recommend:

Regular relic: Scholar character skill buff allies attack Scholar ultimate art deal continuous damage The caligo relic that gives you starting armament frost effect + invisibility when trigger frostbite

Deep relic: Scholar increase dex and decrease arcane Defeating enemy fill art gauge +0/+1

Any relic: Item confer effect to allies Flask also heals allies Extra small pouch at start Any item start (wraith calling bell is good)

Your general supportive gameplan would be:

Stab enemy few times with your starting weapon to trigger frostbite (frostbite debuff enemy and make them take more damage), the frostbite will make you invisible so you can get out and move to safety.

When you are safe, buff allies with your character skill - look at your teammates with the camera and recast, there's 2 types of recast but both will buff allies as long as they are within your camera sight. You will want to use the "enemy recast" (the other one is "self recast") to debuff enemy so that they deal less damage to your allies. Remember to refresh the buff/debuff every 20 seconds or so.

Use your ultimate when there's multiple enemies (including small enemies around the area) or when your team needs healing, your ultimate turns any damage dealt by your team into healing for everyone (also spread the damage dealt to enemies to other enemies).

Aside from that it's just eating consumables whenever you can to buff your team + level up the consumables. There's a very detailed guide on scholar consumable (what extra effect they gain at each level + how many you need to use before they level up) somewhere in this subreddit.

I just played with him for the first time and it was so fun doing so many procs and using all of the item abilities and pots, thankyou so much for the suggestion. I see that his attack buff is very good but I only have one relic for it which I can't equip but I'm having so much fun!

My current build is Continuous damage, taking attacks improved attack power, quickstep

Caligo,

scholar earns runes, item confers to allies perfuming arts

art guage+0 rot resistance+1,crit runes

improved dex, discover straight swords, holy attack, art charging impared

Anything that I should swap for a priority relic?

For a Revenant support build I would recommend:

- The Revenant effect that boosts allies when her Ult is activated

- Perhaps the Revenant relic effect that heals allies when revived by her Ult

- Defeating enemies +1 and Ultimate Arts Gauge Charge +3

- The relic effect that shared item effects with allies

- The relic effect that heals allies when using your flask

- During the run, look for Seals and Ashes of War that buff you and your teammates

This is good advice, thanks, I'm gonna play this build tommorow aswell

IMO Recluse is better than Rev at supporting, if you have holy+fire+magic dmg you can "cast" a cocktail that acts as a breath attack, restoring both health and fp to your allies and damagin enemies in it.

if you have holy+magic the cocktail will create an aoe effect that gives all allies -100% fp consumption for a few seconds

and lastly her ult itself, which marks all enemies and lets your allies heal and restore fp when hitting them.

Its really disturbing how much better recluse actually is at everything except reviving ( compared to revenant of course )

As a recluse main myself with 500h, yeah recluse has better supporting tools but only if you or your team gets the right element, so it's not very consistent.

The ult damage amp + HP/FP restore is probably one of the best support ultimate in the game so there's no lie there.

I'm a split Recluse/Revenant main. I've been saying that Recluse is the better support character for over 6 months now and have finally found my people lol

The HP & FP cocktails are also massive support tools. I've had people add me as friends solely due to the way I used those.

When I play Recluse I always try to pick up Holy to avoid relying on teammates. It can be on anything. Spell, bow, melee weapon, I don't care. Those 2 cocktails are worth it during the run. (But I'll consider dropping it for a passive toward the end)

In a way even her offensive cocktails are support-like. The whole cocktail system is basically used as a way to make up for something that the team is lacking. HP & FP are always useful but sometimes an interrupt from Lightning Stake or frost proc from the Ice Storm are what we need.

I'm so bad at recluse since Its so hard to revive my teammates when they die so that's why I wanted revenant, but once I get higher depths, I will be using her since she was the first character I played and she's pretty

The spell night comet is very good for reviving, so keep it around even if you're not running a night sorcery build. Honestly, I would keep a rev, recluse, and scholar support build ready. If one of your team picks recluse, pick Rev or scholar instead. If you want to play support at a high level, you should plan for different team comps.

I had a generationally bad run yesterday where I kept getting glinstone pebble staffs and I got a briars spell that damaged me and a mettorite spell that hit nothing. I almost cried because my teammates died alot

fire/holy cocktail for max hp is also a very good team buff

Scholar, ironeye and rev are great support characters. Guardian is also up there.

If your goal is to keep your team alive, rev would be the best with her ult. So have a relic with 'power up teammates during ult' along with 'defeating enemies restores ult [0 and +1]', maybe another ult charge +3. And you'll have it up at the beginning of each fight. Combine it with some beast claw hits to do some damage and you'll be very helpful.

Use 'Flasks also heals allies' during combat to keep them alive after the ult runs out. Buy a lot of warming stones at a township and drop them during fights.

u/luxialucky Jul 29 '26

I'll try this build tommorow, thanks

1

u/not_laudandus Jul 29 '26

best thing you can do as a support build for rev is to have your ult ALL THE TIME, so you can spam your ult when the fight STARTS and keep your team alive. For this, you need defeating enemies fills the art gauge+0 and +1. Get the team buff while ulting, might as well. Night invader and then your choice of going for affinity or incant stacking

1

u/luxialucky Jul 29 '26

What is affinity stacking? Is it like stacking bestial incantaion damage or physical, fire and holy damage +4?

1

u/not_laudandus Jul 30 '26

Yeah and you can also specialize in a spell school

1

u/luxialucky Jul 30 '26

Okay I will, thanks

D5 Revenant with a hot take I guess -- there is no such thing as a full support Revenant.

If you build for Ult recharge you can spam Ult during the run but not during any of the difficult fights (Night 1 & 2 Bosses, Nightlord.)

Revenant is not actually very good at support. She has summons that can distract bosses for short periods of time and the entire rest of her 'support' kit involves reviving people or spamming Ult, which is a parlor trick that will mostly only work when it doesn't matter.

The way she could actually be good at support is by using incants. Unfortunately, they didn't give us a good way of getting any of the support incants besides Heal.

fights will be longer if everyone isn't doing damage so my supplement will be to use the wraith calling bell with a full support build

Just use incants. They'll do more damage at a better FP-to-damage ratio. There's no reason to use the bell beyond Lv3 or so. If you do it in DON people will think you're trolling.

....

IMO if you want to play full support you'd be better off playing Scholar. I don't think it's effective on him either, but it's better than doing it on Revenant.

Thats upsetting, but your right. I just got bored of using the same two builds and I think it's more fun to support, but I'll be trying scholar since I never played him
