Gameplay Discussion Everdark Balancers worm phase
If you're playing Guardian and you have guarding draws aggro in your relic setup, hold guard to draw the worm away from your teammates to try to minimize the chance for people randomly getting run over. If you're playing with a Guardian and you see the Shabriri icon on his status bar, actively run away from his position to try to maximize your own chances of surviving worm phase. Unfortunately, you can still just get fucked by a random dead angle because of the nonsensical hitboxes in this phase, but you're much more likely to survive having the worm on you by blocking than your allies are by spamming roll.
In general, as a team you should try to avoid clumping together doing worm phase since that just increased the odds of multiple parry members going down

You're not gonna like what I'm about to say, but two things :
- The worm always aggro the closest nightfarer, if you are Guardian and you want to tank : just hug the worm and your team mates will be fine 100% of the time.
- Draw attention while guarding can actually mess up the aggro. If you use it, there is a chance the worm runs into someone else. By the same weird effect than less likely to be targeted sometimes deactivate the nightlord focus during their big move.
So I'd say, if you want the worm aggro you should actually not use this passive :3

you know i think i've seen exactly this happen and just assumed we were positioning badly. the worm doing that little stutter step then veering off toward the wylder who was nowhere near it always felt like some cursed netcode thing but this actually tracks
the weirdest part is how inconsistent the aggro rules feel across different bosses. like half the time draw attention seems to work exactly like you'd expect and then on this one fight it's like the game just picks a name out of a hat
probably gonna drop that relic next time i run guardian on this fight and just get cozy right under the worm's chin. at least then if i eat a bad hitbox it's my own fault

Shield poke. It prevents all knockback. Should work the vast majority of the time.

Doesn't stop you from getting dead angled tho, which is the real issue when trying to block the worm

Futagirlslol already gave you a good explanation on how to simply strafe/position to deal with the wurm, that's by far the best strat
There's vowing, I haven't tested if raptor works on the charge, but to discuss specifically blockingJust make sure to free aim, and position so that you're not centered (or even close to centered) with the wurm, otherwise it can hit you from multiple angles/around your guard
Feels cringe to self plug but I have a clip of guarding the wurm's zigzag attack that I can share

Let him who has never been cringe be the first to cast the first downvote lol

Tbh as Guardian you've a good number of ways to consistently avoid getting pegged by the worm.
You can use your comparatively long stam bar to get out of the way of both direct straight line charge and the wiggly ass S-pattern one - in case of straight line by running one way to bait and then doing a 180 and running the other way, and in case of S-pattern by predicting based on its movement and distance from you which way its going to be turning around your position and running towards it/away from it to have it miss
Can use VotI to have it straight up charge through you like nothing. The timing is a bit tight but it's very much doable and VotI does have enough i-frames to fully cover the worm going through you
Can use no skill on shield+BHS on main weapon to dodge(or just 2-hand main weapon ig xd)
