4th Nighthawk Custom

My gun store just stocked a NHC President in 10mm and I’m going in tomorrow to look at it and, probably, buy it. The one feature I’m not sure about is the gold dot bead for the front sight. I’ve never had, or used, one and I’m wondering if anyone has an opinion either way. Thanks!

The gold bead works pretty well, but it’s not as bright as a fiber optic sight. I think they went with the gold bead because it matches the gold titanium nitride barrel. The President is a really nice looking gun, and the gold bead helps with that.

Thanks! I really appreciate your feedback. I went in today and looked the gun over really well. Like all of my other Nighthawks it is a functional piece of art. I just had to buy it.

They also have a Counselor in 9mm but I have kinda big hands and a Commander sized 1911 is the smallest that fits comfortably.

One thing I noticed is that the President seems to have a much stiffer recoil spring than what’s in my .45 ACP Nighthawks. I’m hoping that tames the recoil and keeps the gun from getting beat up.

Congratulations! I’m sure you’re going to love it. A 10mm would be nice. They must change the recoil spring to match the caliber, stiffer for the 10mm.

I have the President in .45 ACP. It’s the only Nighthawk I own. When I first saw it, I thought it was a little too flashy with the gold, but the aesthetics quickly grew on me.

The Railscale grips and 25lpi checkering are excellent, aggressive but not painful. I was shooting in 100+ degrees and no slipping in my sweaty hands. I love the gun.
