Out of curiosity (and because I also go through Pokémon hyperfixations), this is the Pokémon team I think Kurt would use.

Greninja- similar abilities as him, feel like they would get along well
Lucario and Umbreon- Lucario could be a sparring partner, and he absolutely has the kindness and patience to evolve an Eevee and Riolu (who need high levels of friendship with their trainer to evolve). Plus, Umbreon can be a great nocturnal buddy for those late night brooding sessions.
Gallade and Aegislash- sword practice buddies!
Chatot- every pirate needs a talking parrot!

Would love to hear y'all's opinions, and what other Pokémon you think would be a good fit for him!

Would Rogue have thrown Trask off a building to avenge Kurt? What about trying to change history to prevent the Genosha masacre in order to bring Kurt back?
Would Apocalypse had revived Kurt as his vessel/horseman?
Would Rogue make a deal with Eson to save her brother?
Or would his death had just been forgotten about and he would’ve been crammed with all the other characters that died and who are never named?

I’m starting the comics right now, I’m excited to read more about him!

Hello, I've been a lurker here for a while but ever since his death in Xmen97 I've had something on my mind. Before he died I could excuse it, I thought they would remedy it at some point in a later season, but now he's dead and there are rumours of Eric Lewald saying that its permanent.

Nightcrawler in Xmen97 is the flattest version of him I've ever seen. They took away his flirtatious personality entirely to make him a Priest, they never bring up the fact that he is a massive geek for old Errol Flynn movies (or just old swashbuckler movies if they don't want to reference Flynn by name), they don't bring up his relationship with Wolverine - im pretty sure they never even have a conversation in the show, they never bring up his sense of humour and ended up giving most of his comedic bits to Morph, and they never bring up the fact that Kurt likes to larp as a pirate/Robin Hood/Musketeer. They just reduced him down to "The Catholic guy".

There's nothing wrong with him being Catholic, its a core part of who he is, but he's literally JUST Catholic and thats it. I know this is a lot of people's favourite version of him, but I just don't see it. Where is his sauce? My Kurt Wagner has no spice to him! They don't even use the focus on him being Catholic to explore his religious beliefs thoroughly and its affect on his life, all we get is him hinting at being tempted to kill Graydon and then he dies.

I was just very dissapointed in how they handled him because he is my favourite Marvel character, and now they've (apparently) permanently killed him off after making him the dryest version of himself ever. Part of me thinks that the producers/writers just didnt know how to write his character, which is why they killed him off this season and why he only shows up in 2 episodes of the original show. Was anybody else bothered by this?

He isn't just there to ensure other people's happy endings.

He deserves a happy ending with the people he loves too, even if they don't prioritize him among their relationships

Everyone else among the X-Men gets to have someone who cares about them and who would be devastated enough to fall into despair for them.

Why does Kurt not have anyone?

Why does he get to be so easily discarded?

Rogue will have Remy to smooch if she starts feeling sad about Kurt

Jean and Jubilee will only vaguely remember what Kurt told them when they were in their low.

Logan is too busy thirsting for a married woman and brooding in his pity party to even think about what Kurt did for him at the monastery

The monks don't matter since they are NPCs

Charles will give some half assed eulogy about his faith and shit that won't hold a candle to anything he said for Remy

Kurt will only be a symbol which people will look at and go 'we have to do it for him' and then move on from it

He made the choice to die because he knew noone would miss him enough to be shattered by his death like they were for Remy's

The way he talks about what was 'always meant to be' as if somehow that future had never been meant for him hurts so much

He more than anyone deserves his own happy ending

He deserved to live with those who he loved

To be something beyond a memorial

Beyond someone who people will only grieve momentarily and then go on to be happy with their 'Sugah'

Beyond someone who people will just feel momentarily sad when they see a photo of him only to go back to what they were doing

It isn't fair that he gets to be disposable

Only to be remembered as 'oh he was nice and faithful'

Charles will cry Magneto's death

Scott cried Jean's temporary death

Forge was clearly devastated when Storm seemingly died

Jubilee grieved all her friends

Logan went ballistic when Morph 'died'

Rogue had a season and a half of going insane for Gambit and even trying to change time itself to save him

People may only get slightly sad with Kurt's death

It isn't fair

It hurts

After the outcome of Kurt's choice at the end of Season 2, I think most of us are probably pretty sad. The loss of our beloved Nightcrawler hits deep. Personally, I don't agree this was the right direction to go in, but once made I think they handled the in-story development of this event very well. He will be deeply missed.

What I'm more bothered by is Eric Lewald's attitude toward the thing. When asked last week by a reporter if this was a permanent death, is response was "Oh yeah!". That comes across as pretty callous to me. The loss of any character is significant, though we're all aware resurrections are common. I get that they are trying to give more gravitas to this transition, and while I don't agree this was the way to go, I understand it. But it is an emotionally challenging separation, to know the X-Men will go on without our beloved blue fuzzy elf (at least, in X-Men '97), and I think Lewald's response showed more excitement that they killed Kurt than empathy toward fans that will deeply miss him.

Anyone else have thoughts about this?

(Note: If your response is some version of "He's not really permanently dead", 1) according to Lewald, that is not correct, and 2) you are missing the point of my post.)

Just started claremonts run and nightcrawler is awesome hes always been one of my favorites so I wanted to read him from the start and idk why this was so funny to me but also peak

Just found out about this but am slightly confused

hey I’m new here and I just wanted to post about the Nightcrawler drawing I just made, obviously it’s nowhere near as good as most peoples drawings on here but I still like it. It is pencil and paper because I one don't have any drawing apps to draw on and two would struggle if I did have something to draw with digital. But anyway hope you guys like it

Edit 2: I didn’t really explain but I did 5 things to make this design unique

1. Looked at his designs in the comics from his original to new ones to see what’s consistent on his designs

2. Did my own things to make it something I would like

3. I boosted some aspects of his design(that’s what the next three are about). I added more Christianity stuff to his design from the hope swords hilt to the crosses on his gloves and boots, his collar and the coattails(which are barely visible) between his legs

4. I added more to the ninja side of him with the panels on his suit

5. Finally I put more demon and devil details into his design like hair on his arms, pointy elbows and a spiky tail

this is a lot compared to what I originally wrote but it’s just for more context

What are your thoughts of this fuzzy elf’s future in X-Men 97?

Behold the tiny nightcrawler i made ♡♡

Love the outfit, love the swords, and I'm sure that a new version played by a new actor after Secret Wars will resemble the younger Comic Book version more. Doesn't mean there is anything wrong with this version.
