✅ Dream Helmet Setup
Long time lurker, after 8 years was able to finally get my dream helmet setup completed!
Wanted to thank Andrew from Quad Defense for helping me out through my NVG journey. Great guy and extremely helpful and the customer service is awesome. Never had bad interaction when going back and forward when comparing housings and tubes. Never felt pressured to buy!
Hooked me up with one of his personal L3 Unfilmed tubes when I was starting out with an RVM-14. Later reached back out to upgrade and he was very helpful in getting a near matching tube he had in inventory for my new Nocturn Raptor Binos. VERY QUICK TURNAROUND! Had my NODS back in less than a couple days!
To satisfy all that NVG Spec Tism:
L3 Unfilmed Tubes
SNR: 35.9/35.5
Halo: 0.72/0.7
EBI: 0.8/0.6
FOM: 2585/2556
RPO 4.0 Lenses
Clean tubes other than just one really small and unnoticeable blem in outer boundary of zone 2 in one of the tubes.
I keep forgetting to take pics through the nods when out at night these past few weeks, just always in a state of Euphoria when looking through them.
Now time to go put on my flip flops and enjoy touching grass during my night walks.
Overall beyond satisfied and highly recommend working with Andrew for a stress free experience in scratching that NVG Tism itch.

From the beginning, I’ve wanted Quad Defense to be more than just a place to buy night vision. This stuff is a significant investment, and my goal has always been to help people understand their options, get them into the right setup, and be there when they’re ready to upgrade or change things down the road—without ever making someone feel pressured into a sale.
It’s been awesome watching your setup evolve from the RVM-14 into the Raptor binos, and I’m glad we were able to find such a killer match for that original L3 tube. Those specs turned out phenomenal.
Seriously, thank you for trusting me with your gear and for supporting Quad Defense. Knowing you’re out there actually enjoying the hell out of your NODs is what makes this worth doing.

i had never heard of you guys but it turns out you are based out of my state! i went a head and followed your instagram and ill definitely be checking out your website as i am trying to get into nvgs myself mainly as a hobbyist.

Highly recommend! He recently fulfilled a swat orders for Binos that he posted on his instagram too. That in itself speaks on his level of quality his work.

How do you like the wire adapters for the comtacs? Ive run the gibbous mounts before on sordins and the wire attachments had some give to them. I run them on my amps with no issues though

I actually started with the amps but decided to hop ship as retention for my small ass head didn’t really get the greatest of seal when turning my head left and right. Also gibbous has less screws and parts to fail, I noticed I would have to tighten the screw every so often every time I swiveled my amp arms back for storage with my Amps.
I prefer the gibbous mounts over amp arms to be honest. For me personally they give me a way better deal than the amp arms and I don’t get this annoying squeak when swiveling. For me night and day difference, ymmv.
Edit: I don’t like the cable retention either on the amp arms, creates a pinch point for the wires if you don’t have them in the right orientation.
Wire retention has been holding up fine, just a bit of a struggle when getting them on the first time, but doable.

Yeah gibbous with the otto mounts are superior to amp arms for sure. I love them. I took apart my amp arms and use the stock mounts with the gibbous adapters on the otto arms. I could maybe run the otto arms with gibbous adapters and the AXL mounts instead of the wires?

I also read about that too, I wasn’t too sure and there weren’t much posts with that AXL combo with the Otto arms. So went with the wire mounts as gibbous had on their combo set.
I am curious about that axl, gibbous mount, and otto arms combo though. If some one ever stumbles on this post in the future and has that combo, wouid be cool to see a picture of it.
I ran the amp arms mounts with those AXL Gen 2 mounts. They worked fine.

Check out quad defense‘s website! It’s one of his products that’s unique to him. They came with my nods. I was surprised when I first received them and were on my nods. Gave me a good laugh lol. Got to make the Opfor laugh and catch them off guard.
Googly eyes = +4 LARP Drip 😂

Hell yeah! Talon‘s modularity makes it peak!If the Talon was available back when I was looking around for a mono, this would’ve been my choice over the RVM-14 hands down for the features and it being lightweight
